    This is lengthy...

I was able to test-drive a 2.0i-S along EDSA south and northbound (between Ortigas and Bonny Serrano) this afternoon. I had 3 passengers with me and the ride was pretty much ok.

I can only compare it with my wife's Sportage, and I can definitely say the ride was stiffer but still well within bounds... my bounds. Running at about 60-65km/hr, I went for the uneven "dugtongs" of those slabs of cement and they were actually hardly noticeable. And those uneven asphalt patches on the cement did make us passengers rock sideways but still not substantial enough to elicit discomfort from me or my wife (didn't bother to ask the other passengers as they both work for the dealership).

There was a certain bump on the road that produced a rattling sound that seemed to have come from the cargo area... could be the tools below the cargo flooring or maybe it was the sidings. It happened only once and I could not reproduce it even on uneven concrete so I guess it's nothing to worry about.

My wife's Sportage has a bit softer ride (it also has 225/45 R17 [edited: it's actually 225/60 R17] tires, meatier than the Forester's). Mas swabe ang pag-attack nya dun sa uneven connections and patches on the cement along that EDSA segment.

I can say that the New Forester's ride is comfortable pa rin... at least for my senses.

That could be the center seatbelt buckle. I still can't find a way to secure it on our XV without causing it to rattle on some bumps.

And do take note that most units that come straight from the casa (and their test drive units) have 40+ psi in their tires.

I saw a white one exit Petron on Pasong Tamo extension near the BNS. That hood looks long.

As I have observed, the new SK platform is longer and wider than the SJ platform but the ceiling is not as tall as the SJ platform. The lower ceiling gives the impression that it sits lower but it still offers that great outward visibility that the SJ platform offers.

Can anyone who has the 2019 Forester give a short review on the headunit? Is it good? How's the NAVI?

I just got my 2019 forester today and i can't seem to get android auto to work with the stock HU. Audio connection via bluetooth is fine but I can't get Android auto to work. Anyone here able to get it to work? I'm using a Pixel 2.

I think you need to have it plugged in via usb for AA to work.

It finally worked. I just restarted my cellphone and now once it connects with the Forester HU via bluetooth then it automatically launches the Android Auto. I'm not too thrilled with the stock HU of the 2019 forester so far and speakers are so-so

Advisable to have alarm installed? Suggestions? Thanks all

It is not advisable to install an aftermarket alarm on a vehicle with a built-in immobilizer, even more so if the vehicle has a FOB key. Unless you have the alarm installed by the dealership.

Hi, I own a 2011/2012 Forester; came from a RAV-4. The cost of maintenance is high (I think higher even than Honda, though I've never owned a Honda). I've never had a problem with parts availability. Most of the stuff they've replaced, they have available. The only time I've gone the route of outside casa is when my aircon had a problem. Took it to Coolmate instead. Otherwise, except for the expensive maintenance, no complaints.

I was at Subaru-Pasig earlier, and I'm putting the mid-tier Forester on my shortlist (along with the CX-5 and the diesel CRV), even if it's going to come out more expensive.

Di po ako "sir". Haha. Also, just read your other query regarding sunroof. My Forester is turning 7 years old this October, never had a problem with the sunroof. Used it less than 10x in the 7 years. haha.

I guess you can call that a convincing win for the Fozzie. Kung dito sa 'Pinas, presyo pa lang talo na RAV4 unless you drank too much of the Toyota Kool-Aid.
