Dala ko MB100 this Holy Week. Biyaheng Manila-Pampanga-Bulacan-Manila. Nung paluwas ako kanina, nag-overheat along Congressional avenue. Dunno what happened.
I pulled over at a gas station and refilled with water.

tanong lang, a good friend of mine is planning to buy a van (MB_100, kia besta hyundai h-100) all mga LOCAL. ang gamit, personal use at the same time pang shuttle ata, LAS PINAS LANDMARK ata. On top of the list nila tlga ang MB-100 space at comfortable sila. What do you think? Kaya ba ng MB ang ganun purpose? Diba problem mag overheat? tsaka yung parts, mahal daw ba kasi MERCEDES daw, hindi ba mahirap maghanap ng pyesa? lalo na taga las pinas sila, kelangan paba dumayo ng banaue?
sabi kasi ng iba mas madali hanapin at mura daw ang parts ng KIA Besta 2.7 LOCAL how true? baka kasidami din problem like OVERHEATING weak engine etc.
Ok din daw ang Hyundai-H100 LOCAL?
what can you say/suggest?

The MB100 is one generation ahead of the Grace and Besta. In terms of space, the MB100 is very spacious due to front wheel drive and front engine (wala sa ilalim ng seats ang engine) design. The MB100 is even designed to seat four abreast on the last row because it's so wide.
As for overheat, yesterday lang ako naka-experience nito. And I've been driving the thing for the past 10 years (brand new namin nabili).
Old school Mercedes Benz parts are not expensive, you'd be surprised that some Honda and Toyota parts cost even more. Madami na din replacement parts for MB100. Choose ka na lang between OEM Mercedes, OEM Ssanyong, or the replacement parts by Mando, etc.
The engine is more powerful than the 3.0 diesel in the previous generation Toyota Grandia (88bhp vs 105bhp) but the MB100 is low geared so you will be hearing a lot of the engine. And if your driver is not used to the sensation and keeps upshifting early, he will get the impression that the engine is weak. Driving an MB100 is not exactly like driving your neighbor's Honda. Some skill and practice is required. If you grew up driving old school Mercedes diesels with manual transmissions, the MB100 will not be a problem.
P.S. up to now our family driver can't even get the hang of driving my '77 MB300D. But he's gotten pretty used to the MB100.

I'm having problems with the clutch of my MB100. When it gets hot, it tends to slide. I never experienced this at night time except when i get caught in heavy traffic. I've changed clutch disc, rel. bearing, master, etc for a year now. Can you recommend a reputable mechanic who can help me with this? I've gone to 2 mechanics but all they did was adjust the clutch but never solved the problem. hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance.
