Buboy Fernandez issues apology in Team Pacquiao photographer incident
By Scott Christ on Dec 13, 6:07p
Yesterday, Team Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz said that an alleged attack on a ringside photographer was a "misunderstanding," which didn't go over particularly well with most who have followed the story.
But today, Buboy Fernandez, Manny's assistant trainer and lifelong friend, has issued a real apology for his role in the incident, via PhilBoxing.com:
"I just want to reach out to the guy and say I am truly sorry but I do not know how to reach him. It finally dawn to me that you can help me by putting up an article stating that I wanted to apologize. Please tell him I am truly sorry.
"I think I reacted that way because I was confused and did not know how to react after seeing for the first time my best friend and benefactor flat out on the canvas and not moving at all.
"You know how much he means to me as I owe him my life and everything I have. I will do anything to protect him. I wanted to get close to him and help but rules prevented me from doing so. I felt helpless and I my pent up emotions just build up. Perhaps that’s why I behaved like I did."
The photographer, Al Bello, has said he doesn't want to involve police, and had asked only for an apology from the other parties. Fernandez's statement rings sincere, and he deserves credit for accepting responsibility and seeking to make things as right as he can, I'd say.

Yet another waste of taxpayers' money: Lawmaker seeks Bieber ban - Yahoo! News Philippines
A lawmaker wants Canadian popstar Justin Bieber be declared “persona non grata” in the Philippines for making fun of Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao on photo-sharing service Instagram.
YACAP party-list Rep. Carol Jane Lopez also made a call to ban Bieber from holding another concert in the Philippines after claiming the singer’s offensive photos also “insulted” Filipinos.
“What he did was out of line. He insulted Filipinos' hero in boxing,” Lopez said, urging the Filipino youth to boycott Bieber’s songs.
“Even if it wasn’t Manny he was insulting, it’s still unacceptable,” she noted.
Lopez, a close friend of Pacquiao in the House of Representatives, said Bieber is an ingrate for posting the offensive photos, knowing he has a lot of Filipino fans following him on his social media account.
Hordes of Filipino fans went to see his Manila concert at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in May last year.
“It’s just right to ban him in the Philippines and boycott his songs. Lots of Filipinos buy his album and he is going to treat them this way?” the party-list representative added.
“He needs to know that he insulted someone who is loved by Filipinos,” she noted.
On Sunday, Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez knocked out Pacquiao just before the end of the sixth round, during their fourth rematch.
Bieber mocked Pacquiao’s loss to Marquez by posting altered photos showing the defeated Pinoy boxing icon on Instagram.
One of the photos showed Pacquiao doing Michael Jackson’s signature leaning dance move.
Lopez said it was inappropriate for Bieber, a known fan of American boxing sensation Floyd Mayweather Jr, to take the fighters’ rivalry too personally.

baka gawin bagong endorser si JMM ng Coca-Cola. Magiging Mexi-Cola or K.O.ca-Cola na.
Not sure if functional nga ba pero yung ibang turbo daw water-cooled na versus oil-cooled. Kaya...
