Pacquiao to Mayweather: Let’s fight for charity

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines — World boxing eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao dared undefeated American boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to face him in the ring and donate all the proceeds of the fight to charities around world.

“I’m not desperate to fight him just for the sake of money or material things. I’m not the one seeking this fight rather it’s the boxing fans all over the world,” Pacquiao, also Sarangani’s legislator, told the Inquirer by phone Saturday night.

Pacquiao said he was willing to fight Mayweather anytime, anywhere – and even without receiving a single centavo as prize money.
“I am ready to submit myself to any kind of stringent drug testing. Above all, I challenge him to include in our fight contract that both of us will not receive anything out of this fight. We will donate all the proceeds of the fight – guaranteed prize, should there be any, gate receipts, pay-per-view and endorsements – to charities around the world,” Pacquiao said.

Bob Arum: Manny Pacquiao-Tim Bradley ‘not done’

Although Top Rank CEO Bob Arum acknowledged that negotiations are ongoing for a rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, the 82-year-old promoter vehemently dismissed reports that a deal has been reached.

"That's the one that we're working on now, and it may not be the one that takes place. Although I believe that the issues are being narrowed down, and I'm optimistic," said Arum. "But this process takes time and you can't just make it happen. Obviously, if I didn't think that it had a possibility of happening, then I wouldn't bother negotiating."

    Bradley-Pacquiao undercard revealed

Former lightweight world title challenger Raymundo Beltran and former two-time junior lightweight titlist Roman "Rocky" Martinez will fight in a lightweight title eliminator in one of the featured bouts on the Timothy Bradley Jr.-Manny Pacquiao undercard on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com on Thursday.

    Rafael's Boxing Blog
Rafael Get the latest scoop and analysis on the world of boxing from ESPN.com's Dan Rafael in his blog.

The fight will be one of four bouts on the HBO PPV telecast, including the main event and two other bouts that have been agreed to: Khabib Allakhverdiev defending his junior welterweight belt against Jessie Vargas and Bryan Vasquez defending his interim junior lightweight title against Jose Felix Jr.

Arum said he had not yet decided which of the three undercard bouts would serve as the co-feature.

"All three of them are competitive fights," Arum said. "So I guess whichever fight the press and the fans seem like most is the one we'll make the semifinal. I think they're all good fights. Beltran-Martinez is the one I want to see more than the others, so we'll see if the press and the fans agree with me. But overall, I think we're looking at some good, entertaining fights on the card."
