NU nearly pulled one over DLSU before KQ took over. NU is going to be a dangerous team this season so it would be too premature to predict a UP-La Salle rematch.

Pre-seasons during the dark ages were never bad because things were terrible in-season for the whole decade lol.
When I look back, pre-season in the 90's was generally hopeful. We looked forward to the arrivals of Vince Hizon, Gabby Cui, Ryan Pamintuan, the Sison Brothers, and also experienced coaches like Cris Calilan and Perry Ronquillo.
There were a couple of players, however, who should have helped but didn't really play past the pre-season hype: Nate Payne and Ma Meng.
Haha the only thing we wanted then was to beat La Salle which was rare hehe.
Ah Gabby Cui played 1 year lang yata no? Re Ryan Pamintuan, he was injury prone yata? Then recently I heard he had a foot cut off due to diabetes I think?
Ah yes the hype of Ma Meng that never happened hehe. Sorry not familar with Nate Payne.
the ADMU WBT did better ... UAAP Women's: Dela Rosa dominates as UST, NU open season in style
"REIGNING UAAP MVP Kacey dela Rosa reminded everyone who she was, uncorking a career-high 34 points in Ateneo’s 79-68 victory over the Favour Onoh-less University of the Philippines to start the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball tournament."
GO ATENEO! OBF!
FABILIOH!
Ah yes, yun lang satisfaction namin nun Kahit yung lang panalo sa season, ok na hehe.
Ahhhh yes I was watched that live. Only a few Ateneo fans attended as expected. It was raining threes then & La Salle had no answer. That was the year with Gabby Cui, Rainer Sison & the Sino twins I think. The Ateneo crowd was standing up & cheering loudly One Big Fight for probably 10 mins straight. Haha I vividly still remember it because I think that was only time we won against you guys back then hehe.
It was a case of Ateneo getting up on the right side of the bed, and La Salle on the wrong side. The Archers looked lost the entire game. Ateneo may have not reached the F4 pero quota na sila basta manalo sa La Salle. Kami namin reached the finals but could not get past UST for the third straight year.
Ah yeah during college, I went to UST & was lucky that during my 4 year stay was also the 4 years nag champion ang UST sa UAAP hehe. The first one was automatic champion because of a sweep then they changed the rule afterwards & implemented the final four. The next 3 years, finals palagi ang UST & La Salle. If I'm not mistaken those 3 finals always came to a down the wire game 3. Most memorable was the 2nd championship where UST won because of the 2 free throws of Bal David. Consuelo de bobo na lang sa akin that my other school could beat the might DLSU hehe. Those heartbreak bridesmaid finishes gave DLSU motivation to finally have their own 4 peat dynasty.
the juniors team also delivered w/ style over the weekend. they spanked upis from here to kingdom come. it looks like debuting head coach, ford arao, has injected new life into the program. sana tuloy-tuloy na.
i hope this is the start of the ahs basketball renaissance since another blue eaglet squad trounced powerhouse lsgh in the next gen basketball league (ngbl) tournament. the coed transition and the covid epidemic really hit the sports program of the the ahs hard.
A walk in the park for La Salle today. Next on the schedule is Ateneo.
La Salle demolishing Adamson with a 30 point win. Ateneo goes down 0-2 against UST. With them facing La Salle this Sunday, looks like it would be a 0-3 standing na.
not a good start for the boys in Blue and White ... UST finishes strong, shoots down Ateneo for second straight win
marami pang laro and they need to improve fast otherwise it's just going to be downhill
GO ATENEO! OBF!
FABILIOH!
Looks like Ateneo is off to it's worst start since 2013, wherein they started at 0-3.
sayang nawalan ng scoring punch nung 4th quarter. baka dala na din ng exhaustion since medyo manipis ang rotation ng blue and white kagabi.
the good thing is it looks like iyong alas ko na si josh lazaro seems to have found his confidence. i think he had something like 18 points plus a bunch of rebounds. also, kris porter is the wide body the team needs to bump around opposing players in the paint.
almost everyone in the team is raw as heck. they need to grow up fast if they're to make a push for the semis. i'm sure mas lalong makakalbo si kotz tab in the following weeks.

Free throws can be a friend or foe especially if the end game is very tight. FEU learned this the hard way after losing to NU 60-62.
It's ATENEO v La Salle later on.
BEBOB are a huge underdog and no one's giving them a chance to win this one pero laban lang
Win or lose, it's the school we choose.
GO ATENEO OBF!
FABILIOH!
