Under the present rules, a transfer will require only a 1 year residency. The clearance was needed in the previous rules, so as to waive the 2 year residency. Wala ng clearance kailangan ngayon.

Bakit kaya sa collegiate leagues natin, if you transfer to other school, you need to sit out 1 year before you play?
Sa US kasi, there is no period of time to sit out if you want to transfer. You will play na dun sa lilipatan mo (once the competitions are done) the following year.

And, is playing for 5 years sa college too much? Ideal kasi yung 4 years lang pwedr maglaro.

meron din residency ang usa ncaa bro if you're a transferee. ang diplomatic reason nila is so that the transferee will have ample time to adjust to the new school, its policies, and its environment. but i think it's more to discourage the needless endless change of address of student athletes and also to prevent the spread of predatory practice of varsity poaching among colleges and universities....mga kano pa

meron din exemptions pero generally if same sport and same division, red shirting rules still apply

as for the 5 year eligibility rule, that's also a practice sa kanila although not many talented basketball and football players opt to do the 4 or 5 year route kasi wala naman rule ang pro leagues nila tulad dito na may number of years or sems kailangan ka complete bago ka maka-tapak ka sa pba. parang kelangan pa nga dito ata sumali ka muna sa d-league or other minor bball league para masama ka sa pba draft. correct me na lang if i'm wrong

btw, ito iyong usa ncaa wewbpage for that : Transfer terms | NCAA.org - The Official Site of the NCAA. baka mali ang interpretation ko hehe

speaking of which, it looks like kai sotto has garnered a lot of attention after making waves in the recent u-16 fiba asia tournament and american division I schools are reportedly digging information on his past performances. w/c leads me to believe he will not be wearing an ateneo jersey in college.

pwede naman pala mag-sponsor officially ang interested college / uni sa kanya at guardians niya pero parang once or twice lang ata. again i may be wrong w/ my interpretations of their rules

DLSU Lady Spikers dominates the Ateneo Lady Eagles in three sets, sweeping the second round & gains a twice to beat advantage in the final four. They take on Jaja Santiago & the NU team next. The final four brings out the best in the teams, so no matter how well you did in the regular season, it won’t matter much in the final four unless you bring in your A game.
    Animo DLSU!

Watched the game live earlier. So lopsided. Ang Ateneo crowd talaga pag natatalo, malamya na rin. In comparison, when Ateneo was winning before, the DLSU crowd kept the same spirit til the end.

Ateneo had no first ball awhile ago, while DLSU played very well. If Ateneo continues the sloppy play in the semis, baka makasilat pa ang FEU, although a DLSU-FEU finals isn't as interesting as a DLSU-ADMU rematch.

W/ the dismal recruiting turn-out (or rather the lack of it) management has had for the last 3-4 years, I'm just thankful the lady eagles even made the final 4 this season.

but i believe they still have an outside chance of making the finals. If there's one team who can get back from the grave, it's this bunch of girls.

the lady eagles are finally knocked out of contention. their 6 year finals run have been broken by the hungry lady tamaraws.

on the men's side, the blue eagles have survived a do-or-die game to force a rubber match against the #3 seed tams. hyper talented marck espejo scored 55 points in a mesmerizing show of athletic superiority

I guess this is the swan song of Coach Tai in the UAAP? Even before the season started, everyone knows that it will be a difficult run for the Lady 🦅. But even with all the problems he had to contend with, you’ll have to commend him for bringing the team to the final four. He also took UAAP volleyball to another level.

yep. that's the scuttlebutt going around. he's not tied down to any written contract so anything is possible at this point

bundit will be around to coach the creamline team at the pvl though so he'll still be hanging around the campus

maraguinot is said to be leaving the team also. 6 years in college is practically a lifetime so i don't blame jho for calling it quits. her younger sister is joining the blue and white gang next year anyway so i guess everything would be fine and dandy

So sad it will not be a DLSU-ADMU fight. I am no sports analyst or volleyball analyst pero ever since denden left prang pumanget reception ng Ateneo tapos laging nababakante back row nila kaya feeling ko humina sila versus FEU. [emoji17]

It will be an interesting match...

However, both GREENish,- not much contrast,- will probably not sell comparably vs. BLUE-GREEN..
