It all boiled down to recruitment...or the lack of it.

For the last 3 years or so the lady eagles have had trouble locking-in caliber players (most especially in the junior ranks). Reasons range from failure to pass the acet to homesickness to issues re possible playing time.

It's a good thing management has been more aggressive this year. There are at least 4 quality players said to be coming in the fold next season.

Actually, it looks like another potential lady eagle just made a commitment over the weekend. This willowy 6 footer may be the recruiting coup ateneo badly needs. Coup de grace na talaga if the other interested cebuana 6 footer also decides to go to Loyola heights next season

I tell you bro, Competition to enlist collegiate volleyball players is now almost at the same level of varsity basketball recruitment

do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do

I do hope the Lady Eagles get reloaded with talent. Right now they have to get a coach after Coach Tai ended his stint with Ateneo. Big shoes to fill.

true. the search for tai's replacement began even before the season ended.

according to the rumor mill, the thai's replacement is going to be a former bemedalled national coach who's now based in the states. i just don't know how they'll convince him to leave his family to coach for a team na medyo madaming drama haha

what would be bad for the lady eagles is if another school recruits bundit. yari talaga ateneo

btw, the tall cebuana recruit i mentioned earlier has just been signed by adamson university

Akala ko coach tai will retire UAAP for good haha yare pag na recruit siya ng another school. Btw, sayang din si Morente. Nagtataka din ako bakit hindi naglalaro sila Gequillana, Gopico and Lavitoria. I can see that they have potential if given enough playing time sa court.

gequillana and gopico had to sit out this season due to knee injuries. si lavitoria naman nagka-problema sa academics niya kaya hindi nabigyan ng greenlight maglaro this year

Si ponggay i think is too tall for a libero. Sana mas tnrain nalang nila si Lo. But then again they should recruit a libero similar to denden hehe! Hinayang talaga ko sa laro nila last time parang di gumana si BDL at Tolentno eh.

Imagine if Jia, Kim, Ana, & Mich still played this year. It might have been a different story, sayang. My concern would be the recruits. Nung andun pa si Coach Tai, we didn't have good recruits, eh what more na hindi na siya coach. Possible recruits might go somewhere else.

Ot: Crush ko rin si Denden hehe

Haha Denden is a package. Athlete, matalino at maganda. Pero I like Alyssa Valdez since very humble.

Really different. You can add BDL and Maraguinot sa line up. Since magaling din sila maglaro. I don’t know lang bakit naging sloppy sila last time. I blame ponggay and samonte sa talo nila. [emoji1308]

I do hope na maging mas malakas pa ang ADMU Lady eagles next season. Malakong kawala si Tai Bundit despite all the issues ng team before this season started. Big shoes to fill for the incoming coach.

Minalas si Jaja Santiago dahil hindi man lang nakatikim ng championship, kahit sa finals ng UAAP.

Sadyang malakas talaga ba ang DLSU women's volleyball program nila kaya panay pasok sila sa finals?

I agree. Kahit nung nagcompete ang PH Team for AVC, magaling na libero si dawn macandili.

Hindi na sya yung best defensive player as per the stats after 2 rounds ng eliminations, but the one who's playing for UE, Kath Arado. Pwede rin itong i-consider sa national team.

The DLSU Lady Spikers takes game 1 of the finals in 3 sets against the FEU Lady Tamaraws. Animo Lady Spikers! Just one more win for a THREEPEAT!

DLSU needs to keep playing to win... They could not afford to relax and lower their guard....

FEU is a hungry team. The three tightly contested sets today show FEU's tenacity and determination...

That is why coach Ramil is there. He is so good in making those small but vital adjustments in the game, reminders that wake the girls up. Since coach Ramil started coaching DLSU, they have been the grittiest team in the UAAP. Who would ever think Michelle Cobb will ever fill the big shoes left by Kim Fajardo just a year after? Credit Ramil for that.

Agree. When you look at the box score, looks like a simple 3-set victory, but the Tams were very resilient.

Eto lang yung game na kailangan 3-4 spikes ang DLSU bago makapoint. FEU's reception is good.
