There are 2 possible reasons.
1. If as initially discussed, if it is due to a vein or arterial problem, you will see either a reddening or bluish coloration on the area with pain plus swelling.
2. If it is due to a muscle or tendon problem, a particular movement such as extending your elbow or bending your wrist or moving your fingers can increase the pain.
So you should see a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist in your trusted hospital. If you are in UST, visit the Apolinario Mabini Rehabilitaiton Center at the 1st floor beside the Xray.
You might need some medications and an arm or wrist immobilizer.
A cast is an overkill and most likely will not be done.
