sorry to hear that. try another brand

actually rockshox isn't in the business of making oils so they take an off-the-shelf fork oil and rebrand it

the type of oil used mostly depends if it is used both for lubrication and/or damping.

open bath systems require oil that is used for both lubrication and damping. closed systems on the other hand require two separate types of oils.

since the climate of Philippines is mostly hot, you can use less viscous fork oils but in my case, I used 20wt fork oil from Maxima.

DEYM! They need to shave a lot of weight then... though that would often involve a lot of kevlar...

yeah as expected these are steel beaded. an the sidewalls are ridiculously thick like halfway between the thickness of bicycle tires and light-moto tires. i just wanted to see how well they would stand up to abuse. i'm going to beat the crap out of these tires :D

i'm 5'11" and i like Large, 19" to 20". since you're 6-1 you might be better off w/ XL. take note these are just general rules. different bikes have different sizing schemes, different standovers, different effective top tubes, etc even in the same size class

btw don't confuse frame size w/ wheel size. e.g. with 26" wheels you have XS, S, M, L, XL frame sizes

if you're normally-proportioned i.e. no abnormally long/short legs arms etc. then 19" is most likely too small for you. sakto lang sakin 19" but you're taller than me

    try test driving 20 21 22

as for wheel size that's up to you. just don't believe all the hype. there's too much BS in the mountainbiking world

regarding wheel size, it depends on application and your riding style. smaller wheel size offer better maneuverability(eg. slope style), acceleration(on smooth surfaces eg. pump tracks, flowy trails) and stiffness (for DH application) while bigger wheels offer more stability and carries momentum easier(which is why XC racers prefer 29ers). another benefit to bigger wheel size is it makes full rigid viable without a jarring experience...

though nowadays, I'm beginning to think wheelbase is more important than wheel size...

    29 27.5 26

small difference between 26 and 27.5 so if you can find a good used bike in 26" go for it but if you're buying new go for 27.5 because 26 is expected to die in the mid to highend segment

yeah these days i like short 35mm stems and long effective top tube lengths. lets me descend confidently without constantly having to shift weight to the back. you do however need to not forget to shift weight to the front when cornering i guess a longer chainstay length could theoretically mitigate some of that but longer chainstays introduce a new set of problems LOL

i guess there's no geometry that's perfect for everything
