I read once that the main factor in getting fat is speaking English.
The French enjoy their whole milk and fatty foods but not get fat.
The Germans eat large sausages and not get fat.
The Asians stuff themselves with lots of carbs and not get fat.
But the Brits and the Americans are getting fat.
It's not rice. It's speaking English that will get you fat.Last edited by CtrlAltDel; December 5th, 2005 at 11:32 AM.

well,on the other hands he has a point eating too much rice is really bad specially when you are getting old,but it's only a matter of control or proper diet, ika nga lahat naman nang sobra eh masama, dina naman pwedeng hindi tayo kakain ng kanin dahil sa pilipino without rice baka mag-kagulo! i still remember when my father told me on early 60's there is the time na ang pag bili ng rice eh pipila ka para maka-bili ka ng bigas at the time eh "NAMARCO" ata yung namamahala ng rationing ng rice-galing sa dept.of R.C.A. diko na inabot 'yun! kaya tama lang yung self control tayo at alagaan natin ang health lalo na sa panahon ngayon mahirap mag kasakit may E-VAT na...he,he,he...

The article is severely flawed.
The concept of carbohydrates turning into glucose is somewhat correct, but it all depends on one's ability to control insulid based on the GI index of carbs.
These lack of study reports are worthless claims made by the faddish anti-carb diet groups like Atkins...
Carbs are not the enemy here, you will NOT live long without carbs as your body cannot utilize protein and fats for energy.
Oh, tama din post ni Vdub.
Lastly... STUPID comment about eating more fruits before meals.
What are fruits made of??? WATER AND FRUCTOSE...
And he/she's preaching about the negatives of rice turning into glucose?Last edited by theveed; December 5th, 2005 at 01:09 PM.

iv cut down my rice consumption 1/4 to a little less than half cup for lunch, 1/4 or less for dinner, i eat bread for breakfast, noodles or bread for afternoon snack, yun lang yung major carbo ko, the rest consist of milk, lean meat, lotsa veggies and fruits, medyo ok na din in attaining a healthy physique, i recently weigh it registered 173lbs target ko 168lbs pero dapat by that time me 6 packs(kahit 4packs) ako and more tone lean muscles, my height is 5'11'' so normal lang, i used to weigh188lbs ata

Eto lang ang masasabi ko:
Habang wala akong sakit, kakain ako ng kakain ng kahit anong gusto ko, WAG LANG SOBRA! Pag sobra, dun magkaka-problema.
At I will try to be active doing what I like (some form of exercise na rin).
Better to die having eaten what I wanted.
