MANILA, Philippines - The number coding scheme for both private and public vehicles in Metro Manila has been lifted starting Friday, March 13, 2020, "until further notice", the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced.

"Just In: Number coding (Private and Public vehicles) is now lifted starting this hour until further notice," MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago said in a text message.

i suppose,
every little bit at slowing down the spread of the disease, helps.

the objective is to limit the number of those infected at any one time, so as not to overtax the healthcare system's abilities.
but the authorities are already resigned to the fact that the cat is already out of the bag.

someone already posted a graph showing two comparative curves. a shorter-duration, taller curve, and a much longer-duration but lower curve.

whatever the decision, the citizen's willingness to cooperate, is still the weakest (or strongest!) link.
