we are not talking about hospice care for stable patients.
we are talking about sick people who can die from the experience.

kasi doc para wala na talaga contamination kung sa bahay lang talaga.

medical people na punta sa patient home.

para controllado talaga mas maka-kahon na yun hawaan.

eh si the medical city nga sumuko na. Susunod na ibang private hospital.

so mas ok yung suggestion ko "delivery si doctor and nurse"

Basta wala pa namamatay eh good news.

Ang panic magsisimula pag may natigok. And kung bata madaleh eh mas intense ang panic.

    scenario:

people show up at emergency rooms with acute respiratory distress

so bad need intubation but ERs too busy

not enough beds, not enough ventilators

people die waiting to be attended

    kaya mas ok suggestion ko.

kasi pag sa hospital mavivideohan pa ng media yan. Eh pag napanuod yan ang mga proud to be peenoise magpapanic. Ikakalat yung video.

So better sa bahay na lang. Puntahan ng healthcare workers. Controllado mga galaw. No media pa.

Now, why hasn't anyone thought of that?

"Hello hospital, I have a suspect virus case over here, having difficulty breathing, coughing like a dog, and acting as if he's drowning. Can you have the doctor and nurses come over with all the needed medical equipment and medications to True Q.C. so he can be attended to at my premises where it's safer for everyone. (Not to mention more convenient for me.)"

"Oh and don't forget to bring an extra hospital bed, just in case."

Waiting for the DOH press conference later... for sure may new cases.

This will play out in many homes, especially many families still live in tight proximity. And with hospital surely be inundated with cases, many will be forced to home care.

Virus Kills Chinese Film Director and Family in Wuhan – Variety

But Chang’s death was not the first in his family—the Chinese media reported that Chang’s father and mother were infected and died one after the other. Chang and his sister, who looked after their parents at home, were both infected with the virus as a result. His sister died just hours later. Chang’s wife is also infected, still alive, and is still battling the virus in an intensive care unit.

A note written by Chang, said to be his last words, has gone viral on the Chinese Internet. Chang wrote that his father succumbed to the illness on the first day of the Lunar New Year (January 25). “My father had a fever, cough and trouble breathing. [We] tried to send him to the hospital but none of the hospitals we visited took him, because they had no more beds,” he wrote.

Instead, Chang brought his father home where ha died a few days later, having passed on the virus to the other family members. Chang’s note said that he and his wife were denied the opportunity to be treated early. Wuhan built a new hospital in six days, but capacity to handle the virus remains strained. Chang bade farewell to his family, friends and his son, who is reportedly studying in the U.K.

sabi nga ni dr tony leachon (doh consultant and former philhealth main man appointee of digong), 15000 people will probably perish in this country alone and that's his conservative estimate. and that's if the mortality rate remains at 3% only.

i'm pretty sure he wasn't being alarmist.

btw, he stated this when he guested last mon evening at the "wag po talk show" of tv 5 so there's an aura of seriousness to that even though the show's title is pretty irreverent.

i am still hopeful, an effective anti-virus vaccine will arrive.
because if not, "the numbers boggle the senses".
even with a "3 percent only mortality rate", because the human race simply has no immune mechanism against catching this new, very-easy-to-pass-on-virus...
the so-called herd immunity simply does not exist yet.
