Stoudemire told ESPN.com on Friday that he doesn't expect to be able to return until at least March, saying that he and the team are striving for a goal of "two months out" from now. He also said that the option to wait until next season to return is still there as well, citing the fact that, while he wants to win a championship and feels the current Suns team is very close, his health is the most important thing to him right now. The entire organization has stressed that Stoudemire wouldn't be rushed back under any circumstance, even if he appeared ahead of schedule at any point.
Now would be a good time to reconsider your situation if you are holding Amare in your league – it's likely that he will only be active for around the final six weeks of the season, and he will undoubtedly be eased back into the rotation at a snail's pace as more of a tuner for the playoffs. If you have the roster space, it may be worth hanging onto him until the picture becomes more clear, but if you are counting on his late production to pull your team up from some kind of hole, it seems more and more likely that you will be disappointed.
