***2nd Annual Tsikot.com Fantasy NBA League***

ok guys…here it is. back by popular demand, the 2005-2006 tsikot.com fantasy nba season is almost here!!!! Last year was the first year we did this, and everybody had so much fun (of course, i had the most fun because i won ) that we all promised to do it again this year.

now i know that it's very early (regular season doesn't start until nov. 1 2005) pero maraming gigil dito eh (isa na ako dun) hehe. but it's probably a good time to start because we have to find out who's playing for sure and vote on the rules.

here are the current list of participants. please confirm that you're still in, or otherwise we'll open up your spot to someone else there will be a max of <edit> 13 players in the league.

if there's enough interest from other players, we can talk about setting up a second league. it's very important that you be active if you do join, walang kwenta ang league kung walang naglalaro at nagche-check ng team.

here are some rules:

daily lineup changes
no maximum on trades or add/drops
no trading deadline
pass/veto trades by the commish (i will veto any protested trade that passes a majority vote)

PLEASE CAST YOUR VOTE ON THE FOLLOWING DECISIONS:

1. preferred scoring system - points or head-to-head?

points - same as last year. ipunan ng stats, and most points at end of season wins
head-to-head - ipunan din ng stats, pero weekly, and you play against a different GM each week


2. draft style - autodraft or slow draft?

autodraft - set your draft order in yahoo and the computer drafts for everyone
slow draft - we draft here on the board. randomized draft order, and everyone posts their picks in turn (this could take 1-2 weeks!)

sa madaling salita, each player drafts players from the real NBA league and according to an agreed-upon scoring system, accumulates stats. at the end of the season, either the person with the most points wins, or there is some kind of playoff system.

like the real NBA, you can trade with other players and sign and drop players from your fantasy team.

walang premyo mga bosing, katuwaan lang to. pero may mga money leagues na available diyan sa intarnet kung interesado kayo.

As for me, I prefer an auto-draft but with unlimited trade privileges. Head to head is fine with me.

ser mantoy, i decided to limit the amount of spots so each team can field some pretty good lineups. if the league is too deep we'll have to draft the sucky players also. imagine having to cheer on Greg Ostertag because you need his points

head-to-head. para mas competitive. mga duwag lang ayaw sa head2head.

tama din si baiskee (i changed my vote to h2h)...masarap ang trash-talking when you're beating (or losing to) a particular gm every week

Hi jlee, sorry to sound like an elitist prick, but we have to deliberate pa on who we can let in. May case kasi last year sumali pero hindi active. Nangyari, sayang yung mga players na hindi nagagamit.

Commish M54,

I think it would be a good decision to set up a "League B" exclusively for newbies. Parang NBDL vis-a-vis our NBA There we can see if these guys are as committed to the game as we addicts are. If they prove theyre up to it, they can be promoted to the big leagues (note: they dont have good at the game, I just want GMs that log in every day).

OK back to business.

Reasons for a slow draft:
1. GMs control who they get.
2. You cant blame the luck of the draw (or the LACK of the draw hehe)
3. MATAGAL PA ANG START!!! This will give us stuff to do while waiting for the season.
4. There will be more involvement on our part as we have to do research on injuries, trades etc. - MEANING= MORE FUN!!!!
5. Trading can commence earlier!!! AGAIN, MORE FUN!!!!! (PK=TRADE KING)

re: league 2, i'm very open to having a second league if we can get enough players. i can commish it (and play in it) if you guys want, or you can commish it yourselves. JLee, you and others are welcome to play in either league as long as you can commit to being active players and we have spots.
