After finally reading all 92 pages, I think I have finally come up with my gameplan and wish list for detailing. But while I'm polishing it, I figured I'd throw in these questions for verification... unfortunately, my notebook crashed before I could save part of the questions so pardon me if some of the questions seem to queer, I'm too tired already and I still have to get up for my usual shift later. This might be a long one so I'll just divide it into several posts.

So the tire foam was to make the rubber parts shine? or to clean them. If it's the former, would it be ok to use the a. Moms Back to Black or b. Moms Protectant? If its the latter, would it be ok to use Moms Tire & Rubber Cleaner?
Any suggestions on how to clean the battery area (e.g. contacts, etc.) "safely"?
Or are those engine grime cleaners better? I can't remember the names I saw in Ace last time I was there, sowee.

Does moms have an equivalent of the "Megs Engine Kote"?
Any recommendations (if ever) for a smallish air compressor? (brand, model, price and source) This would really help alot to get those water out of the nooks and crannies. Have a hard time with water oozing every now and then specially from my door visors, if it's not too expensive, I might just get one. Or does anybody have a pic of the "mikita" thingy allegedly available in GH looks like.

should the 24 hr curing be applied to this multiple layers of carnauba?

wet-looking. any suggestions? I'm looking at Moms Protectant to start with. But based on what I see in the 2006 Moms Prod Catalog which I DLed from their site, looks like the FX Tire Shine would accomplish the wet look better.

    1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temps.
    2. Cover the alternator and your MAF sensor with a plastic bag + rag just to be sure.
    3. Spray a generous amount of your APC/Water mixture to the engine.
    4. use your brush to aggitate.
    5. start from the buttom and make your way up, rinse but don't use high pressure
    6. repeat steps 3 to 5 until your engine bay is clean...
BTW the process above is what you call an Engine Wash, iba yung engine detailing, which involves more steps and less water.
uh, why do we need to work from bottom to top for doing the engine?

What's the vernacular for terry cloths?
Are MFs color coded for their specific purpose (e.g. wax application, buffin, drying, etc.) or do they come in a variety of colors? What's a good way to mark 'em, say "Upper", "Lower", etc. just incase after I've purchased my "detailing" kit and done with my first "detailing" experiment, somebody at home dares to clean my Diana up while I'm not around?
What are the suggested/appropriate applicators/buffers for the following prods(if possible, brand, price, shop inc.)
    Mothers® Back-to-Black®
    Mothers ® Protectant
    Mothers® Plastic Polish
    Mothers® Chrome Polish
Mothers ® Mag & Aluminum Polish
    Mothers ® Billet Metal Polish
    Mothers ® PowerMetal
    Mothers® California Gold® Carnauba Wax
    Mothers® Reflections® Top Coat
    Mothers® Showtime® Instant Detailer
    FX™ Spray Wax
Mothers® California Gold® Carnauba Cleaner Wax
    Mothers® California Gold® Pre-Wax Cleaner
    Mothers® California Gold® Scratch Remover
    Mothers® California Gold® Sealer & Glaze
multi-coat/layer wax, does it have to be really 24hrs++ curing in between coats/layers? theveed mentioned something like 3-5 hours previously and I think that kinda confused my newb mind.
what are VM, UPP and EPX? What do they stand for? (except VM)
Which ones are for spot applications and which ones can(/should) be used throughout the entire car's external among the ff: clay, cleaners, scratch removers, polishers.?

Finally got my claybar last Friday. I tried it out last night. Started waxing my ride around 10 am today, finished around 4. I used Eagle One's Nanowax. Am pretty much pleased with the results, though my whole body's sore. Thank God tomorrow's a holiday, am gonna be sleeping all day. Here's my amateur "reflection" pics:
