Hi! I really need help with my 2008 Nissan Sentra GX A/T (24,000km). My engine died around 10 times (in one day!!!) this May 2010. One our company drivers cleaned the fuel filter and spark plugs kasi baka daw dirty lang after which nag start naman na ulit and I was able to get home from work. I took it to Nissan Shaw that week for regular maintenance and check up. I told them the problem but they said they found nothing wrong with it. That was this June 2010 only. In early July my car's engine began to stall again every time i press the accelerator from a stop position, the only way I could save it from dying is by shifting the gear from D to N and then to D again before accelerating again. Since its so unreliable I've stopped using the car and plan on consulting another Nissan branch (UN Avenue where the car was purchased). But the problem has since worsened. The "check engine light" is now on and when I switch on the aircon, the machine dies automatically. I am worried that I might not make it to Nissan UN anymore.. What could be the prob???? Im soooo frustrated already.... When i took it to a nearby mechanic he said the MAF sensor needs to be replaced. Totoo kaya yun??? My car is still quite young bakit ganun kagad ang sira??? Im worried baka he's just making a fool out of me coz I am a girl and I do not know a lot about car engines.. HELP PLEASE?????

Might as well tow it to CASA since nasa warranty period ka pa. Mahirap na sa patsamba tsamba mechanics.

i agree, it should be under warranty and maybe you can show the service advisor the "check engine" LED in the dash, now that it seems to turn on often. they will surely need to check your car now. maybe they need to do a diagnostics to see what is causing the malfunction.

blinking ba ang check engine light or steady? icheck yan ng casa sa computer. bago ba sparkplugs nyan? kung luma na papalitan mo na lang. yung MAF pacheck/palinis mo na rin.

update mo kami kung ano diagnosis ng casa.

Thanks for the advice guys! Will try to drive it to Nissan UN tomorrow.. papa-tow ko na lang if tumirik ulit sa daan... if you see a Nissan sentra being towed tomorrow baka ako na yun! hehe... Densker, the check engine light is steady and the spark plugs were replaced with new ones when i had it serviced this June. Nakaka-frustrate lang kasi i have it serviced religiously and they weren't even able to arrest the problem at an earlier stage... o well, wish me luck for tomorrow's ordeal! thanks again!

may I also suggest that you bring it to Nissan Mantrade kung hindi hassle sayo. They have very good service there. Good Luck!
