There's a Meralco app, pede ka mag report ng brown out dun. No need to call. Pede ka mag attach ng picture ng bumagsak na poste or naputol na wire. Dito ko rin tinitignan kung magkano bills ko. Also a graph of my monthly bills for the last 13 months.

Bahay ng parents ko naka-PLDT landline and Globe DSL before. Sabay nagfiber yung dalawa so may dalawang modem na sya. Yung isa pang landline lang.
Last Feb din when we went to Baguio via Jut's Tuba-Asin road there were crews setting up fiber along the way. They're that aggressive.
DSL separate ang phone line. VDSL IIRC via IP na rin ang phone calls so kung brownout no landline din.
And mas prone nga to nakaw ang copper cables. Last time nangyari samin nagsimula ang putol sa tapat ng bintana namin all the way to the guardhouse which is around a 100 meters away. Ewan ko lang kung bakit walang nakapansin.
Just keep sending complaints until maresolve. You are entitled to a rebate naman for the service not provided.

June 20th, 2022 04:16 PM #724In my case, Globe automatically rebates the days when my internet is down. 3 out 3 times na nawalan kami ng net, nagkarebates naman lahat. One time, nasa labas ako at sila pa mismo ang tumawag sakin informing me na wala daw kami connection nung time na yun. Magpapadala daw sila ng tech para macheck. Kinabukasan naman dumating din yung tech.

June 21st, 2022 12:00 PM #727Secure brand 3000VA that I got from PC Express.
Haven't had the chance to test exactly how long it lasts, but so far hindi pa naman nauubusan even for hour-long outages. I added my PC to it and run extensions going to the fiber ONU and access points.
It's super heavy, I think it has six of the 12V 9Ah battery modules you typically see in a 500VA UPS.
IIRC UPS usually provide 5 mins backup time at their rated load, so backup times should be something like:
2500W - 5 mins [max load]
200W - 62 mins (1h:02m) [moderate load i.e. light gaming including PC]
95W - 131 mins (2h:11m) [light load i.e. browsing including PC]
60W - 208 mins (3h:28m) [monitor off, PC almost idle just to run background tasks]
15W - 833 mins (13h:53m) [modem and access points only]
In practice the fiber modem by itself uses 7W or less. I saw a youtube video where a guy ran the modem for over 24 hours using a 40Ah car battery. He monitored actual energy use and it only drew 0.6A at 12V, consuming about 15Ah total over 24 hours so his 40Ah car battery will weather even a 48 hour blackout.
