Tested my Converge wifi just now, ok naman speeds.



Pero pag hapon napapadalas na naglalag connection ko and I get choppy video calls. Annoying when there's an important Webex/Teams meeting.

Contented pa rin ako sa Globe dito. Ito lang nakakapasok sa area namin eh. lol. Di man sya pinakamabilis. Overall, maayos naman.

They were great at the start. Right now I feel like they're oversubscribed na. Also seems like they don't have enough technical personnel to go around, tagal magpa schedule ng technician.

I'm still at my lower cost subscription. I'm not interested in upgrading yet because the current one still does the job. It handles multiple Netflix/DirecTV streams decently enough on mobile devices and no one really does heavy gaming online. There is also no cap. So, all is well.

I started out with 50 Mbps back in 2014. My ISP has automatically raised the speed over the years to what is is now. The last time I did a Speedtest, it was like 120 Mbps. Looks like they did another free upgrade.



Edit - Actually, I looked back at my previous post here. It's the same. No change. My bad. Very reliable connection. Maintains and exceeds advertised speeds. Hardly any buffering on mobile or PC/laptop.

Globe 50Mbps plan

My globe*home just got upgraded to 100 mbps. I'm happy about it.

The sad part is when it joins my load balancing router and main WiFi. I only get to 90 mbps, 100 mbps globe + 20 mbps streamtech.

I just learned that my hardware is load balancing not wan bonding router.

It seems Wan bonding router is an enterprise solution at mahal for a just a home WiFi. Anyway....[emoji17]

Alam mo ba bad trip ako dyan kay Globe.. Nagkaroon ako ng trust issue kahit feeling ko gawa-gawa lang ng isip ko..
Nakatanggap ako ng tawag sa kanila last week para free upgrade pero after 6 months from 1699, magiging 1899 na yung MCF ko.. Syempre tinanggihan ko, satisfied na kasi ako dahil ako lang naman ang gumagamit ng net dito sa bahay.. Namamahalan na nga ako sa 1699 na unli hindi ko naman ma-maximize yung internet.. Nanggaling ako sa Plan 999 na capped sa 50GB nung una, hanggang naging 100GB per month ni hindi nga ako nag-over sa 50GB (pre-pandemic) kasi lagi ako nasa labas at ginagamit ko lang net kapag may weekend work ako and nood ng anime ng weekend..
Then Sunday 10PM nawalan na ako ng internet.. Napuno na ako kahapon umaga, nung nakita ko may promo PLDT Unli Fibr 1699 50Mbps tapos may free installation.. Nag-file na ako ng termination request sa Globe, tapos paggising ko meron na ako internet. Tumawag daw yung Globe sabi ng papa ko hindi niya lang ako ginising..

Bad trip!! Parang last time nung Plan 1299 ako na ayaw ko din mag-upgrade to 1699, nagka-network issue din ako na inabot na ng 1 month mahigit di nila ma-fix connection ko hanggang sa napilitan na ako mag-upgrade ng Php1699 yun lang daw nakikita nila paraan (malas pa hindi na free installation at yung upgrade ko)... So anu ito? Naulit uli.. Tsk!!
Mabuti na lang talaga malakas yung Smart Mobile internet ko nakakapag trabaho ako kahit 3 webex meeting sabay-sabay at nakakapag-share desktop pa ako.. Dahil dyan napa-renew na tuloy ako ng Smart Mobile plan ko kahapon, kasi baka lalagpas ako 5GB, yung renew ng plan na sim only lock-in 12 months meron 20GB Data, free 5G din (kaso wala naman ako 5G phone)..

Yes free upgrade, vdsl kasi kami dati. One thing I liked about globe as nagta taas sila ng speed para sabay sa mga bago customers. Yung iba kasi walang upgrade ng speed kahit may offer sila na same price pero faster sa mga new customer.

Ok naman experience ko sa Globe support. Gusto ko yung sms notification ng mga visit nila. PLDT naman ako may bad experience pero tingin ko tamad lang yung tech nila sa site nila. The tech will reset our connection then pag OK na ng few seconds sarado na yung repair ticket. Eh ang problem intermittent. I logged the ticket number and date sa notepad. After 6 months yata, at maraming ticket number nagpunta na kami sa pldt and I showed the csr the long list of closed tickets and without satisfying resolution.

Kaya nag apply ako ng Globe as backup. Mas friendly yung customer support ng Globe compared sa pldt. Pero mas stable daw yung internet connection ng pldt according to my wife pag kumo connect sya sa office. Tanong ka muna sa mga kapit bahay mo na naka pldt kung ok connection nila. Minsan kasi nasa lugar yan. Pansin ko sa Globe masipag sa tech visit. Unlike pldt, it took 6 months bago kami na visit ng tech at nakita na nasa line yung problem.

Kami hanggang ngayon VDSL pa din.. hindi na daw ma u upgrade yung 50Mbps max na daw yun.. tapos hindi pa din nila alam kailan magkakaron nang Fiber.. to lang ang hirap pag sa condo.. tsk tsk

If not for Converge giving speed upgrades like there's no tomorrow these 2 MFs won't even budge and would have kept their subscribers in 25mbps. [emoji23]

Honestly I don't know what is the limit right now because they kept on increasing the limit what I remember is that when I applied for plan 1299 years ago it is around 5 or 10mbps at that time.
