Actually, at home, I use a wired connection whenever I download from Steam/Origin/Uplay. Using WiFi 802.11n resulted in only slightly slower Speedtest results.
Regardless, I stick with wired for downloading because the only two computers using wired are my desktop PC and laptop. Everybody else at home use WiFi.
Steam also showed a corresponding increase of download speeds from 6 MB/sec to 7 MB/sec.
My ASUS G46VW also has an internal battery. But, it's over three years old. No problems with it whatsoever, including the battery. I get a good 7+ hours doing a mix of watching videos and surfing the Web.
My experience with laptops have shown it's at 4 years when the battery starts going bad or die altogether. I have a year more.
The actual download times for GTA V were shorter. But, I counted the other activities such as the Social Club set up and first time game settings.
