That speed will forever remain a dream in the Philippine household.

When I visited the PH/LPC in 2013, my brother in law had decent Internet. It was good enough for Skype and to use Steam for games. He and my nephew have gaming PCs with Steam.

The apparent snappiness of surfing was on par with my uncle's ISP in Nevada (DSL). I would guess it's only around 5 Mbps. Not much. But, he (brother in law) seemed to be getting the full 5 Mbps.

I'll give a decade. As someone who seldom visit the PH, I notice changes much more easily. I was pleasantly surprised in 2013 except for the traffic. ;) I think the PH will reach 50 Mbps in ten years. Of course, by that time, gigabit Internet will be more common elsewhere.

My internet connection speed is decent for daily browsing and streaming, though it sometimes slows down during peak hours. I recently checked some useful info while updating my details through tm sim registration tm sim registration.

I started with 56kbps maybe late 90's. ngayon according to PLDT 400mbps daw though sometimes I doubt that given that I have a hard time watching 4k seamlessly with youtube.

Not anymore. I'm getting 50mbps up/down from my PLDT Fibr for almost a year already.

I guess I was wrong. I thought it would take 10 years.

I guess it's no fluke. I really got an extra 10 Mbps free above the advertised rate I'm paying for.

I also downloaded GTA V (59.1 Gb, Steam) to my laptop. Last year, it took 2 hours 56 minutes from the start of download to the point where Prologue started. This time, it took 2 hours 49 minutes.

2 hours?! Lucky! Mine took 3 straight days to download [emoji23] di ko pinatay laptop ko which turns out to be a bad idea since the internal battery broke months back. Anyways, nasa repair shop ngayon and lesson learned. The problem with recent windows based laptop releases kasi gumaya sa apple an internal. I miss my old laptops na removable pa battery [emoji17]

Actually, at home, I use a wired connection whenever I download from Steam/Origin/Uplay. Using WiFi 802.11n resulted in only slightly slower Speedtest results.

Regardless, I stick with wired for downloading because the only two computers using wired are my desktop PC and laptop. Everybody else at home use WiFi.

Steam also showed a corresponding increase of download speeds from 6 MB/sec to 7 MB/sec.

My ASUS G46VW also has an internal battery. But, it's over three years old. No problems with it whatsoever, including the battery. I get a good 7+ hours doing a mix of watching videos and surfing the Web.

My experience with laptops have shown it's at 4 years when the battery starts going bad or die altogether. I have a year more.

The actual download times for GTA V were shorter. But, I counted the other activities such as the Social Club set up and first time game settings.

Maybe lemon battery lang but I lost my receipt na so no choice but to pay for repairs. Problem ko now since wala pa 1 year old laptop mahirap maghanap ng parts

My 2009 Macbook & 2013 Lenovo works pa including the battery pero may signs of old age na
