I see, not a gamer though so I guess updating wouldn't be a problem. Hehe. Waiting game na lang.

Already installed it. To be honest, it's like a long overdue overhaul to make Windows as productive as Linux especially the multiple desktop.

You can download it manually here: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...ionToolx64.exe

So far, the experience is a little better compared to Windows 8.1 with classic shell.

Would you recommend upgrading from Win7 to Win10? So far I'm happy with my 5 year old laptop running Win 7. No gaming. Used purely for surfing, excel and word.

    Should I upgrade or not?

My son is upgrading his desktop from Win8.1 to Win10.... I asked him to do this first and evaluate for a month or so,- before he upgrades his high-end laptop....

Our other desktop, used by my other kid,- will remain Win7.

For me,- I would stick with Win7 for my laptop..... So, is wifey's laptop.....

Bro CVT, I am using surface with SAP GUI. Is it advisable to upgrade to Win10? Im worried that the corporate apps are not compatible with Win10 yet.

    hwag muna bro....
if you have the time, better have it on a virtualized environment and test your SAP from there.

the good thing with Win10 is that it is free.... sooner or later, Microsoft will announce that it will end its support for Win 7 and you would be left hanging.

i think kung basic office and surfing lang naman, there is no sense of holding on to Win 7.....

kung may gaming, i defer muna because of probable issues with video cards.... i have read an article where there are issues pa with the NVIDIA cards.

    backup....backup....backup....

and retain your existing Win 7 disk if in case you decide to go back.

Already installed them in the family PC and my personal rig. Decided to still use Classic Shell despite the "return" of the start menu for the sake of convenience and customizability.

So far, it feels like Linux. Heck, even the shortcut for switching virtual desktop is copied from Linux environment.

Doesn't feel bloated. If anything, the flat color theme reminds me early versions of Windows <.<

    And... Cortana doesn't work... yet.

If you guys are downloading manually, be sure to save it in flash drive in case you have multiple PC's.

And the upgrade doesn't always work. My bike mate has his installation corrupted.

I'm still hesitant to overclock this early as I might suffer from stability issues.

It doesn't really matter whether I have a Start Menu or not because of my computer habits. I usually have shortcuts nearby to often-used apps, making the Start Menu unneccessary. But, it's good not to have to have a separate Metro desktop.

If I download Win10 to a usb drive, can I use it to upgrade 2 laptops? One is running 7 and the other 8.1. Both are 64 bit versions.

I have the product key for 7 but do not have it for the 8.1 Both are original Win that came with the laptops. The 8.1 did not come with a Win authenticity sticker.

    Using WIndows 10 now.

    So far so good.

Glad to have the Start button back and the traditional power options. Just don't click the option to make this full page

For 8.1, the product key is embedded in the bios.

You can install Windows 10 while you're running both Windows 8 and 7 as long as they're activated.

Also, having Cortana not working yet is a good thing ;)
