We have a dedicated circuit breaker for the shower heaters. They are both centrally-located, meaning, there are no breakers in the bathroom... just the 20A grounded outlet (same or similar to the common A/C outlet).

The water heater itself did not come with any plugs... just the power and ground wires. I provided the installer the 3-pronged 20A plugs. It's been over 12 years and so far so good.

Just be mindful that the installers need to be watched over, in case they screw up your tiles or the drainage in your shower. If your shower area already has provisions for a wall outlet, you'll most likely not need to get the circuit breaker they are bringing with them. They will insist that it isn't safe without another circuit breaker, but that's BS. My analogy for it is that it's like wearing a second condom on top of another.
As long as there is already a dedicated (not shared) circuit breaker for the water heater then yes, no need for another circuit breaker.

Scheduled a service for our 5-year-old Lecston. Its output pressure is not like it used to be. Hope it's just calc deposits.

Not anymore ... since they got acquired or merged with AEG ... change brand to AEG ... then back to Stiebel Eltron ... not same quality as before since nowadays it's made in China ...

^ Units i bought for the past 2yrs were made in Thailand.

Its the other way around, they were re-branded AEG but sold side-by-side with Stiebel. When AEG did not pick-up sales, the brand disappeared in the water heating biz leaving the orig Stiebel on the store shelves. Or in other words, Stiebel do R & D, manufacturing, while AEG specializes on power tools. So instead of making from scratch, AEG decided to just re-brand the well established and tooled brand.

Like hot and cold water dispensers, shower heaters are a mature tech. Practically anyone makes a decent product nowadays. But I would still prefer well-known brands with a PS mark or other safety certification. Needless to say, protection features like like leakage current detection, etc. must be standard.

This is what I bought when I had our bathroom remodel couple of months ago.. Pinalitan is Panasonic multipoint.

Will it last as long as the Panosonic? I don't know. Compact kasi siya kaya yan pinili ko and gagana pa din daw sa low pressure.

That's what I saw nga sa "must read" ng official store. I could have the village plumber/electrician install it but then he won't have the items right away

Better pa rin sa Ace? I want sana yun digital yung heat like indicating the centigrade pero wala na e

For our bathroom there is a separate circuit breaker (unsightly pero buti nasa may bintana) So I need to buy that before the Panasonic guys come over. I saw kasi parang pinabibili nila switch lang

I need to buy a circuit breaker pala kasi this bathroom doesn't. When we renovated kasi years ago they removed the old heater etc. There's no saksakan na pala so it will be ugly, sa labas yung wires

I installed some with ckt breaker that has built-in socket - like those being used for the airconditioner.

You may need a 6ft grounding rod and gauge 8 grounding wire for leakage current protection-ELCB/GFCI.

Most installers do not mind these grounding safety, it should be the first to be installed in any electrical wiring connection esp if the appliance being installed like water heater has tendency to be soaked in water (even if it has ingress protection label) that could lead to electrocution of the end user.

Got the Lecston fixed. Technician found a broken plastic piece from the input valve blocking the water. The valve regulates the flow to the pressure switch so it can't be bypassed. Workaround was to fix the valve in full open position. I don't touch that valve anyway. I also cleaned the shower heads with a vinegar and baking solution paste. Based on his assessment I don't need to flush out the heater core yet.

He also checked the house voltage as part of the diagnosis process and was surprised it was a steady 220. Most of the BGC condos daw are at 230 and above and he always suggests AVRs especially for inverter appliances to protect from spikes. Guess we're lucky we don't live in BGC.
