Dunno, there should still be a market for super low-end phones e.g. Africa or maybe even here.

i read somewhere that Google first approached Nokia regarding Android; Nokia said no, thinking it could push its Symbian/Meego OS. It wasn't able to keep up with iPhone/Google in terms of app base imho.

Yeah, parang no more hardware for Nokia. The cheap-none smart phones might be gone. From the news, all of Nokia's hardware development employees are going to Microsoft.

Yep, I like the battery life of non smart phones. My previous phone can last 5 days easy with moderate use. A week on low use.

I like Nokia. Cheap and very fluid Os. Talo ka lang talaga sa apps, other than that, Maganda Os windows 8.

Consider that the smartphone has seen an accelerated evolution in just the last 6-8 years. But nothing much can be said about the battery technology as they pretty much stayed the same since the time they were introduced 20 years ago.

Battery technology, it seems, couldn't keep up with the gadgets they power.

With Nokia out of the phone business, wonder if Blackberry will follow soon... RIM is in worst shape than Nokia.

BB already release the Z10 folowing the trend of iPhone, S4, Z10 alike. But seems like consumer is not buying it.

i have no idea dude; Bert Nordberg didn't say anything concrete. He only said BB can survive as a niche hardware company. he didn't say what niche or what they're actual plans are. it's too early to speculate, we'll just have to find out in the months ahead.

Nestle plans to sell more than 50 million chocolate bars featuring the Android mascot

Google is calling the next version of its mobile operating system Android KitKat.

The news comes as a surprise as the firm had previously indicated version 4.4 of the OS would be Key Lime Pie.

The decision to brand the software with the name of Nestle's chocolate bar is likely to be seen as a marketing coup for the Swiss food and beverage maker.
