I think irreversible ang image retention ng OLED displays, grabe yung image retention ng mga demo units, yung S6 Edge ng aunt ko as in bakat keyboard sa screen whichever page or app you open. That's also one of the reasons why I'm less inclined on getting a Galaxy. But I think MicroLED will fix that soon.

Got my fiance an S9 for our anniversary/birthday. Inggit ako! Baka mapabili ako ng di oras [emoji23]

Bagal na kasi ng S7 especially with Android Auto.

Anyone here tried an S8/Note 8/S9 with Android Auto? Naglalag ba?

Hmm. Can't decide if I'll get an S9, S8, Note 8, or just keep my S7.

S9 is 24k from Globe if I upgrade my plan to 1499 (8GB data). Note 8 is 29k. Total spend for 2 years (phone + plan less residual value of my S7) is 45k for the S9 and 50k for the Note 8.

S8 is around 24k now in the secondhand market. Total spend for 2 years is just 28k.

Keeping my S7 Edge, total spend is just 19k (just the plan). But risk is that the S7 doesn't last 2 more years - my brother's S7 is already showing signs of LCD burn-in and battery heating up.

Go for what your heart desires. The price difference is not that significant though plus you have the S-Pen on the N8.

I don't really have the itch to have the latest phone. I prefer money in the bank than on a depreciating gadget.

It's just that the S7 has gotten quite laggy and I don't think it can last another 2 years. Pag hinintay ko pang masira bago ko ibenta, sayang hindi ko napakinabangan residual value niya. Pero kung tatagal pa siya 2 years pagtiyagaan ko nalang until bumaba value ng S9...

same here bro. thinking getting S8 or skip and jump to S9. most likely S8, mahal pa ang S9 lols!

experiencing burn in screen too with my S7e. i sometimes felt the power button heating up a bit, might be the battery too.

i'm keeping my S7e for now. maybe till Oreo upgrade comes [emoji56] i'm still enjoying the portability with my wireless headphone.

I was expecting the S9 to completely blow the S7 Edge out of the water when it came to indoor low-light shots. It has a wider aperture and newer sensor after all.

To be honest, I find the difference to be negligible.

blow it up using a larger, HD-capable screen. the better quality will probably make itself known.

Which means that in regular use, it's not a pronounced difference.

So much for the tagline "camera reimagined."

    i believe that is correct.
i believe the unit was designed for the "more creative user". one who will appreciate the image beyond the unit's screen size.
    my opinion.

I've decided to keep my S7 Edge until a good deal for an S8 comes up, para 10k lang ilalabas ko. Then replace it with an S9 next year when prices go down. Hopefully by then the difference would just be 10k as well.

If I get an S9 now I'd have to upgrade my plan and get a 2 year lockup. Not worth it IMO.

Im holding off too. I want an ultra crisp photo shooting phone. It has to have excellent photos. Note8 photos are not good. Memories ought to look good.

My brother's Note 8 has good photos. Not as good as the S9 but good enough and it has dual lenses for the pseudo bokeh. It's a better buy than the S8+ and S9+ IMO.

Will consider the Note 8 also if it drops to ~30k. Better deal than an S9 with a lock-in plan.

Currently at 35k right now. A few more months bababa din yan. Then a bit of a sharp drop when the Note 9 becomes available around October.
