What is the latest bang-for-the-buck smartphone in the Philippine market? To be used only for SMS, occasional calls, checking mails, FB, and sometimes clash of clans (if I forget to bring my tab).
The digitizer (screen) of my Alacatel Flash Plus 1 suddenly have cracks. I can still view the display perfectly but it wont respond to touch anymore.
Nag-crack ata dahil nasikipan sa pantalon hehehe. Ilang beses na yun nabagsak ng wagas, pero nag-crack kung kelan hindi nabagsak.
I'm cheap so I'm looking for a phone worth Php10,000 max hahaha.

This is probably the most powerful phone you can get for under 10K.

Or a Note 4. 🤔 Specs are pretty much the same for both, though the Note 4 has a higher quality screen, a better camera (even if both are 16MP), and the functionality of the S-Pen.

Illustrates my point that previous gen flagships are better buys than brand new China midrange phones.

I didn't like Super AMOLEDs until the S6 came out when they started making the screen less saturated. Personal preference lang lol. Noong bagong labas ang Note 4 ng blockmate ko sumasakit mata ko pag ginagamit ko phone niya.

Tbh ok lang sakin Chinese phones pag backup phone lang. That's Snapdragon 650, almost as powerful as the Snapdragon 810 but weaker graphics. An Xperia X with the same processor costs 29,990 if I'm not mistaken.

Huawei GR5 2017/Honor 6X pwede na din for 13K. Cheap dual camera phone with good hardware - better than the J7 Prime. Asus Zenfone 3 5.2/5.5 is slightly overpriced if you ask me, pero 64GB naman din ata tska better than average processor.

May Xiaomi mi5 pa pala, Snapdragon 810 for 13K! Hindi ko lang kabisado software support nila. But I generally like their accessories, quality pero mura lang.

You can actually adjust the Note 4's color profile since the default is really too saturated compared to, say, an iPhone.

When I was younger ganyan din ako puro specs tinitingnan. But later on I realized the specs are secondary to function. I hate the stock Android OS and that's a big dealbreaker for me with these generic China phones. I prefer the TouchWiz UI of Samsung even if it's more resource intensive.

And specs don't illustrate differences in camera quality. Aside from the high-end P9 with a Leica camera, most Chinese phones just don't hold a candle vs. the more established phone brands.

Anyway, personal preference lang yan when it comes to phones. I don't think I'll ever buy a Chinese phone when I can get a used flagship. I'm sure some people prefer China phones.

Good point, yung G2 na pinamana ko sa wifey na pinamana sa anak ko, it's still doing pretty weel until now. Better than my Lenovo which was bought later. Shows you that TOTL phones if can be bought bnew even after 2-3years is still better than midrange phones of the same price. Imho lang din naman.

My iphone 5 from 2012 still has ios 10 so I say it can be as long as 5 years. Which is amazing as my previous android phones barely got 2 updates.

Yes, my Note 4 hasn't had a Marshmallow update (but Note 4s of other regions already have Marshmallow).

On the other hand, even my old iPhone 5 could still run iOS 10.

If you're the type to keep phones for long, I think Apple is the better choice for the ff reasons:

1. Slow development means your 3 year old iPhone 6 is still almost as good as an iPhone 7.

2. Long OS support means your 4 year old phone will still be supported

3. High resale value means that you can still get rid of your phone for a decent price after several years.

Note 4 and Note Edge are exactly the same internally. The Edge just has one side that's curved.

But between an S6 Edge+ or S7 Edge vs Note 4, the S6/S7 is definitely better (but pricier too).

I agree with 2md hand flagship phone. Although id stay away from flagship with non removable battery. Mabilis mag degrade ang battery. buy an old flagship phone and replace the battery with a new one.

Depends rin. My iPhone 6's battery was still the same from day 1 til the day I sold it, but my iPhone 5 had noticeably shorter battery life come selling time.

salamat bro, sinubukan ko ulit kingroot kanina, for pc, ayaw ma root, direct sa fone, ayaw ma install. naka on na usb debugging and allow from unknown sources. binookmark ko na ung link, mamaya ko babasahin

Depends on the phone's design din, iPhone batteries are relatively easier to repair than flagship Androids lalo na mga may sealant.

Sucks that even DIY repairs are prohibited by Apple now. Or else hindi mag aactivate ang iPhone mo pag nalamang may "unauthorized" replacement ang nagawa.

Yung Note 4 ng blockmate ko nagtagal ng more than 1 month sa service center kasi walang replacement part ng pins sa battery. Siguro tanggal-kabit kaya nasira sa kanya.

Samsung wants to sell refurbished Note 7 units with new (smaller) batteries in emerging markets according to a report. If they'll be using batteries from Sony, I might get one. No other phone comes close in the functionality of the Note series.

I'd get that in a heartbeat. I'm really happy with my Note 5 and the Note 7 is a nice step up. Although I'm already eyeing the Note 8 once it comes out later this year so it might be a redundant effort for Samsung that might even ultimately cannibalize Note 8 sales.
