Any charger ba pwede sa S24U? Hindi makakasira ng battery? Like yung USB port ng sasakyan at ibang charger na iba't iba ang watts..

Battery protection on my S21 will only prevent it from exceeding 85%.

I have to jump through hoops and use Tasker, IFTTT, and a smart plug to turn off the charger at night when it reaches 70%. The program will turn it back on at around 4AM. When the battery reaches 100%, the charger turns off again. By the time I wake up, the battery level sits at around 97-100% with the charger turned off.

My main goal is to wake up to a fully-charged phone without letting the battery sit at 100% overnight.

It's going to be much easier with the S24's more flexible battery protection modes.

I think yung fast charging bricks lang. It needs PPS supported charger, some high watts bricks will only charge it up to 15 watts pag hindi PPS.

Yes, so I switched on the adaptive mode.

With adaptive mode, it syncs with my galaxy watch to learn my sleep habit and throttles charging at 80%, then resumes a couple of hours before day break, hitting 100% around the time I wake up.screenshot_20240201_221837_device-20care.jpg

pero if we see a future na lahat tayo may VR, parang ang lungkot naman kung di compatible yung old videos natin

who knows, baka iba din format na gamitin nila later... pero something to consider lang when buying a phone this year
Meta Quest headsets get spatial video playback, just in time for the Apple Vision Pro launch | Engadget

You can upload spatial videos via the Meta Quest mobile app directly from your iPhone, but you’ll need an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max to make the videos. The content will be stored in the cloud, and not the headset, to preserve all-important hard drive space. Once uploaded, you’ll be able to relive precious memories over and over again, as the increased depth that spatial videos provide is pretty engrossing.

The 3D's demise is mainly due to the need for uncomfortable contraptions like 3D glasses and in this case, a VR headset, to enjoy the show. And if that's not enough deterent, there's also the high price of admission to have that capability... and for what?

How much of your own videos have you've actually rewatched?

But as with everything based on opinion, I bear a disclaimer: I can't certainly say whether or not it will eventually achieve critical mass. It's from Apple, anyway. It may wow me or seduce me, but I can say for certain that it's not for me. ;)

Women do not like to wear anything that mess up their hair ... a man came up with the idea and had a man design these headsets and then had a man build them ...

Women, as in REAL women with 2 X chromosomes ...

well, you need a TV to enjoy 3D. I'm also not a fan of IMAX so I know where you're coming from.

I had a VR when 360 photos/cameras were "new." stopped using them as the tech was not yet ready.

In our case... they are edited to a family video
raw footages are also saved when we need to find something from a specific trip

That's the scary part... Its from Apple and Meta just decided to support the format

Remember when Apple started using High Efficiency Image and Video formats?
When Apple starts something... its scary.
How many Samsung users do you know turned on its HDR10+ video setting?

again... no one knows if magkakaroon tayo ng VR in the future.

20 years ago, I can't imagine driving an automatic car

pero things change. and I think the iPhone 15 Pro's (and Pro Max) Spatial Video capabilities is a big plus to consider choosing a phone right now.

I see the Vision Pro as more of a spatial computer than a 3D video or graphics medium. It can do the latter, no question, but we won't see the true utility of the Vision Pro until we get apps that can fully utilize it.

I can imagine gaming on it will be absolutely immersive and it has the capability to do far far better AR than any headset in the market. It's going to be a great virtual classroom/conferencing medium as well, so long as they figure out how to do the avatars better.

Personally, I think it would be absolutely fantastic for long-haul flights.

Yung Samsung S24 series pala may bayad na yung AI after 2025.

Yup, the cloud AI features will be moving behind a paywall at the end of 2025. I can't fault them for that... maintaining the back-end systems for the cloud AI function is expensive. All those servers, storage systems, bandwidth, all future developments required to improve it, etc. But I'll hold off judgment until I see the prices.

Though, you can turn off cloud AI and just use the integrated NPU for local AI. It's not as powerful but at least your S24 won't lose all AI functions when they start charging for it.

Same sentiments on the OS upgrades and security updates. I've tried considering using mid-tier models myself as they have gotten better overall, but the very limited support lifecycle always pushes me to get a flagship instead. 7 years or 7 generations of Android OS upgrades, which are obviously annual, including 7 years of security updates (which varies between monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly). So the S24 will be supported until 2031 and will get up to Android 21, or whatever it's going to be called. Now, that's how flagships should be treated.

Big deal na yung Security update and OS update..
Before, may separate security key device for network connection sa work ko.. Late last year, nag-iba na yung security set up, dependent na sa smart phones yung authentication..

Galaxy S24 Ultra Users Are Reporting a Hardware Issue in the Camera, Here is How to Check Yours

"It appears that some Galaxy S24 Ultra users are running into hardware issues with their phone cameras. Users have started reporting that the images on the screen go through a shift when they are switching between different lenses on the phone. The issue was first spotted by a Twitter user, and since its discovery, it has been confirmed as a hardware problem by the official Samsung Service Center."

I finally received a text this morning from the actual courier that my S24U is being delivered today. Took their sweet time getting here.... a day shy of 2 weeks from release date. So much for their "3 to 10 days".

There had been several failed attempts so I'm not keeping my hopes up. It ain't final until I actually have it in my hands. I think the delay is the result of trade-in customers not backing up beforehand and taking too much time transferring their data to the new phone while the courier waits.

In my case, the courier arrived almost 8pm as he needed to complete all his deliveries in my area in one day. True that other customers were not able to back up their old units, and others even asked assistance on how to do smart transfer. My transaction also lasted around 30 minutes as the courier needed to check the old phone for functionality and waited for the green light from head office. I observed that his request for confirmation was queued together with other couriers around NCR.

I'm happy to say that I have received my new phone and watch yesterday around 1PM. Everything took give or take an hour from the time he arrived until I let him go.

    The process I went through:
    1. Thorough inspection of my trade-in unit. Validated the IMEI, ran some functional diagnostic tests, and took a lot of pictures which he messaged to a supervisor for approval - 15 mins.
    2. Paperwork - 5 minutes
    3. Phone-to-phone transfer (except images and videos) - 25 minutes
    4. Factory reset of the trade-in device and validation that my data has been removed - 10 minutes

The courier mentioned that some customers took up to 4 hours to do the transfer (no local or cloud backup) and they have to sit and wait for it to finish before serving the next customer.

    my question is,
why does it take a long time for all that data transfer from one phone to the other?
