Did you avail of the trade-in offer? I got about 40K in discount for the S24U for trading in my S22U.

I tried practicing with the IP12 as I was planning to get the IP15T, but the IOS ecosystem doesnt fit my need. Plus, I need the SPen for taking down notes.

Expecting to receive it 1st or 2nd week of February.screenshot_20240119_081526_samsung-20internet.jpg

I got P24,500 trade-in value for my S21. I also applied two vouchers; The 'free' Galaxy Watch6 and another 5k discount voucher.

Metrobank is also running a campaign with the release of the S24 Series.... 7% cashback if you choose 24 or 36 months 0% installments with their card.

Btw, how do they typically collect the old device?

Same question. Baka upon delivery, but will they wait for smart switch to complete?

Just realized that we still live in a 3rd world. It seems that you're only given one hour to transfer your stuff to your new phone after you receive it. They will charge you additional fees if the courier is forced to wait longer than an hour.

    So primitive. lol

I always take my time when transferring to a new phone. I don't factory reset the old device for normally a few days, just in case something got left behind. Here, you don't have a choice. I guess USB-C to USB-C Smart Switch would be fastest.

That's ridiculous. I normally leave the 2 phones to sync overnight over wifi and for smart switch to finish. Too many sensitive information inside my phone to not factory reset.

People are recommending that a Type-C to Type-C cable be used for faster synchronization.

My new phone won't arrive before the 24th so I've started doing some housekeeping...

First, I fired up Smart Switch and initiated a cloud backup. Took about 3 or 4 hours to finish. Samsung will keep the backup for 30 days. This will be my fallback, in case the phone-to-phone transfer fails.

Additionally, I've dug up an old Galaxy A30 with a cracked screen (daughter's old phone), installed the Microsoft Authenticator app and restored all my MFA accounts from backup. This will come in handy in case both the S21 and S24U become unavailable during the transfer and I need to sign in to something on my PC.

I think I got most of it covered.

I also pre-ordered an S24 Ultra online. Here are the freebies and discounts I got:

    • less ₱1,000 for ordering for the first time on Samsung.com
    • less ₱2,500 using the promo code GALAXYAIS24
    • less ₱10,100 for trading in a Note 20 Ultra 5G
    • less ₱16,000 additional add-on by Samsung for the trade-in
    • Free upgrade to 512GB for pre-ordering online (basically an ₱8,000 discount as this is the price diff vs the 256GB version)
    • Free Samsung Care+ for 6 months (worth ₱3,599)
    • Free Galaxy S24 Ultra Silicone case (for choosing an online exclusive color, case is worth ₱1,190)
    • Free Galaxy Watch 6 (40 mm) for using the promo code GALAXYS24LIVE (watch is worth ₱16,990)
    • Free shipping

Total price will be ₱55,390. It won't be credited yet until the trade-in is done.

I also plan to sell the watch for ₱12k and the free silicone case for ₱800. Net price is not too bad for a TOTL 2024 Android phone with 7 years of OS updates.

Btw, Metrobank and BDO cards also have the option to do 6, 12, 18, and 24 mos 0% installment plans.

But the 7% cashback is only available with the 24 and 36 months 0% installment plans with Metrobank (not sure if the same with BDO). That's an extra ~P3.8k discount.

The first batch of S24 inventory is going to be delivered today. Some have already gotten their emails while a few have gotten the phone call from the courier.

I hope mine gets shipped on a weekend. I chose a color that's supposedly an "online exclusive" so I doubt I get mine before the month ends. I hope the freebies and the phone all arrive in one delivery.

I was originally scheduled to receive the S24 today (if the "Get it by" date is accurate), but I've since cancelled it for the S24U, which undoubtedly brought me to the back of the line.

I have also received the email but since my new "Get it by" date has unfortunately fell on a weekend (27th), I probably won't get it until early next week because I had it delivered to my office (I won't be there to receive it).

Just got a call informing me that the unit will be delivered tomorrow. Kaso, 1 hour lang to perform a smart switch, and P100/hour after that. I'd rather do a back up and switch now with an old Note 10 na lang tonight.

There's a Smart Switch app for Windows. You can backup everything first on your PC (assuming you have one with ample storage space).

    Then you have two options:
    1. When the new phone arrives, give him your factory-default old phone and restore the new phone from your PC backup, or
    2. When the new phone arrives, connect the USB-C to USB-C cable and do a Smart Switch excluding pictures and videos. This way, the transfer is faster but you still end up with a usable and updated phone. Then, when the courier leaves, just restore from your PC backup, selecting only the pictures and videos.

I received an email yesterday morning:

    "Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your pre-order of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series from Samsung Online Store!

Due to all-time high demand, we are expecting a delay in delivery on some models. In line with this, we would like to update you that the new estimated shipping date of your order is on or before February 19, 2024. Standard delivery lead time will follow, depending on your delivery address.

We are committed to delivering your new device as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are sincerely grateful for your trust in Samsung and your excitement about our new Galaxy S24 Series."

What I'm sore about is that the sale for the phone was credited on my card the following morning, and yet the phone won't be arriving until nearly FOUR weeks from now.

Wow that's a month long wait! They should give some sort of discount or credit for that.

Got a couple of questions for you:

    1. When did you order it?
    2. What does the Order Status say in the Samsung "My Orders" page

    1. Ordered July 19
    2. "Preparing Order" -- basically hasn't changed since Jan 19

Tried their online chat support and phone support and not a single agent is available, unfortunately. I'll try again after office hours.

    I ordered twice...

Ordered the S24 on Jan 18 - Cancelled it on Jan 20
Ordered the S24U on Jan 20 - Order Status as of yesterday says "On the way"

What unit did you order? If it's the standard S24 or S24+, seeing how popular they are and more likely to be ordered the most, I suspect that they're running into supply issues.

I ordered the S24U. My sister ordered the same phone a day earlier and got the email that it was about to be delivered.

I ordered an online exlusive color though ("Titanium Blue"), while my sister opted for the Titanium Violet. Considering I chose an odd color, I was expecting maybe a week's delay AT THE MOST not a whole freaking month.
