I'm just amazed by the battery life of s23 ultra, 10 hours of SoT. I have put the performance to light mode. I think the sleeping mode, deep sleeping mode and never sleeping mode list helps to conserve the battery. The deep sleeping mode can put an app to frzoen mode if not used, the sleeping mode puts it to sleep if not used. screenshot_20230807_155250_device-20care.jpgscreenshot_20230807_160402_sd-20maid.jpg

I'm thinking of buying midrange Samsung phone for my daughter.

I'm used to be oneplus fan because of its clean UI almost stock android. But not anymore since they are bought.

I'm now switching to Samsung brand. Meron kasi akong 2 pa na old phones. Oneplus 5 and oneplus 6. Both are still running pero mabilis na maubos battery. I'm thinking since may service center Samsung sa pinas it would be easy to change battery after 5 years. Is my assumption correct? After 5 years I can go to Samsung service center and pay for battery replacement?

    in my opinion,
one may have the unit serviced, battery replacement even, at the official outlet or at independent service center.
official outlet can do replacement, only if the replacement part is still available.
    inquire about warranties.
    good luck.

That's assuming someone would still use a 5 year old mobile phone or if it will still run properly ... also, the cost of replacement could be a significant percentage of the used value of the mobile phone that it would be more practical to just buy a brand new (but lower end) phone ...

ganun naman palagi every year... since SG gets the new iPhone earlier...

Buy units in SG then carry then post mo sila to sell. if you're lucky, makaka-tyempo ka ng gusto lang mauna magkaroon.

Sayang 2027 pa ang EU requirement of replaceable batteries hehe. Sakto sa susunod mo na purchase if ever bumili ka ngayon. 5 years is good enough for a smartphone.

This one, like the OnePlus 11 needs a sturdy case.

    3nm technology at it's finest...

Did Apple’s nose just grow? iPhone 15 Pro performance slows with iOS 17..3 (tested)

iPhone 15 Pro’s overheating issues have been prominent for a lot of users (including me), and Apple has just released iOS 17.0.3 to fix it.

Recreating situations where I did feel the phone get hot to the touch, I can confirm its been resolved, but I did pose a question earlier this week — would Apple sneakily reduce the performance of A17 Pro?

Now we have the update, and after preliminary testing, I can confirm it’s looking like the company has done so, but the answer is much more complex.

Just bought my 8th-grade daughter a Xiaomi Redmi 12 5G through Globe's contract renewal. I ordered it yesterday morning and I was surprised that they were able to deliver it to my home this morning. I'm still at work so I'll only get to set it up and play with it tonight.

Up until now, she has only been given hand-me-downs so I hope that this is going to be a significant upgrade for her. Her current phone is a Galaxy A30 which came from her older brother.

Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max is a disaster: Screen burn-in latest of reported issues

While an initial patch seemed to solve its thermal problems it came at the expense of performance as A17 benchmarks dipped following the update. To make matters worse, users are now reporting that it's back once more – and that’s not all. Users are now reporting screen burn issues hampering the smartphone.

iPhone 15 Pro Max: The hot commodity burning its own reputation
In a classic case of “when it rains, it pours” the Pro Max is also suffering with power drain issues, and now users are widely reporting their top-flight iPhone is suffering from screen burn-in too.

Tech tipster and X user Tarun Vats, brings a few cases of this issue to light in a recent tweet/post. This post showcases the screen burn issues reported by many, as Tarun puts it “adding to a growing list of problems for the company this year.”

The list of issues with Apple’s iPhone Pro Max doesn’t end there either, users recently noticed that the Pro Max’s advertised 120Hz ProMotion display is locked to 80Hz in most cases, its receiver speaker has begun crackling for some users at volumes above 80%, Apple Pay issues, and persistent night-time camera lens flares still unresolved since the iPhone 14-Series.

Furthermore, some users are reporting that poorly optimized third party apps like Snapchat are suffering from UI glitches and blurry images, and that Apple’s latest phones are unable to charge via some power banks.

Vivo, Oppo and Onr plus falling... New China brand picking up.

Apple and Samsung lost market share to a phone brand you've never heard of

According to this Canalys report on Q3 2023 sales, Samsung and Apple lead total sales with 20% and 17% market share, yet both have fallen from their 22% and 18% levels in 2022. Xiaomi matched last year's share only by "recovering" from a terrible first half of 2023. OPPO has fallen steadily over the past two years, while fellow BBK brand vivo lost the top-5 slot it's owned for years.

Tanssion, the maker of Tecno, Itel, and Infinix phones, climbed from 6% global market share last year to 9% in 2023, a 50% jump, while its larger competitors lost ground.

Founded in 2006, Transsion distinguished itself from other Chinese phone makers by establishing a major foothold in Africa and tailoring its phones to users there. It also sells phones in the Middle East and Latin America while recently pushing into India.

Its recent strategy has been to sell reliable phones at aggressively low prices, such as the Tecno PHANTOM V Flip. Our reviewer noted that by selling a $600 foldable, Tecno was "essentially democratizing foldables by significantly lowering the barrier to entry." It also showed off a rollable phone concept at MWC this year, which shows that Transsion is willing to experiment with new form factors rather than simply copy the competition.
