pero Samsung regularly updates its devices' Android version (upto 3 versions on some devices)

the newer the version, mas malakas din sa system requirements, meaning mas malakas din sa battery.
remember when Apple was caught throttling down their devices to save battery? kasi their devices receive up to 5 iOS versions.

I have an Android 8 device at home just to maintain my travel SIM cards and pwede pa sya as a spare device. pero I'm sure if the same hardware ran Android 9 or 10, maiinis na din ako sa battery life nya.

same with our businesses RealMe C30 - its working fine on Android 11 GO, pero I'm sure it will be slower with a shorter battery life if it ran Android 13
    i thought,
newer apps on newer cellphones, will use less electricity than equivalent older apps on older phones.
but more apps in the phones will certainly need more electricity to run.
that is perhaps the reason why some newer, more app-packed units, now come with upgraded batteries.

    You are correct Doc.

May mga manufacturer kasi that has so many pre installed apps when you buy their unit. You can't uninstall them and they keep running in the background, malaki nga battery capacity pero ubos naman dahil sa apps nila.

Most users are not techie enough to know but they can be easily uninstalled using ADB (Android Debug Bridge) or rooting.

Every time I get a new Android phone, 1st step for me is to remove all the bloatware crap through ADB

Sulit!!screenshot_2023-04-25-14-07-19-48_fc704e6b13c4fb26bf5e411f75da84f2.jpg

for android, it's always good to have an Optimizer App which you will run every night before you sleep.. this will close all unnecessary apps, delete temp files, trash and will free up your memory..

Can you recommend a legit shop selling samsung phones at a lower price than samsung stores?

newer processors are more efficient, pero they are normally designed/optimized to a certain extent.

tapos there's modem and other components pa (always a problem with Android since you can't optimize for every possible combinations available)

then there's the system requirements required for the OS and every app you install.

just look at Facebook and Facebook lite.

so yes... an entry/mid range/China phone that was released with Android 10 and was never updated might perform better compared to a Pixel 4 and Galaxy S20 that were released with Android 10 pero now running on Android 13

    like many companies,
i think samsung controls their products' prices in their authorized outlets, hence the seeming-equality of their prices, down to the last peso.
if ever a store sells below competitors' prices, it might be a grey market item... fraught with all the advantages and disadvantages, real, implied, or imagined...
'raming for sale at below-regular-price, sa carousell, atpb.

    my 1.10 pesos' worth.

    good luck.

How about LazMall or Shopee Mall? My 2 previous phones were bought there. Always during double digits sale (1.1, 2.2, ...) May vouchers pa and other discounts.

    but i am wondering,
what's the warranty and who's gonna honor it locally?

I'm a bit hesitant because the mobile phone would cost around 30K and normally when I buy phone I test it right away and have it replaced if there will be factory defect they allow upto 7 days replacement.

normally. I would walk around the mall and start asking for promotions/freebies

they best deal gets my $$$

I did the same last year when I purchased my GoPro. in the end, it was down to Shop A who would give a free memory card and battery or Shop B who would give a free memory and GoPro Bag.

Naalala ko tuloy nung bumili ako sa Mega at festival mall, may freebie na shabu shabu pot ata yun, but I negotiated for a powerbank instead. Ayun, japeyks pala, it cannot hold a charge beyond a few minutes [emoji24]

I think it's the same warranty provider for those phones bought from physical stores.

Try sa mall. Sa Cyberzone maraming stores, kanya kanya ng freebies. Just like what ice15 said, shop around and pick the best offer you can get.

Samsung’s unbeatable software update policy now includes a surprisingly affordable phone | Sammobile

Samsung’s newly announced Galaxy A24 will get four Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates, according to Samsung Vietnam. The Galaxy A24 is a sub-$300 smartphone and the cheapest yet to be eligible for such long-term software support; it further cements Samsung’s lead when it comes to updates in the Android market.

Do you keep your phone for more than 3 years?
