The Pixel 7 is the latest smartphone with spontaneously shattering cameras | Ars Technica

The Pixel 7's biggest design change over last year was in the camera bar, which switched from a single big sheet of glass covering every camera to a solid aluminum block with smaller glass cutouts over each camera lens. The thought at the time was that less glass would lead to fewer light streaks in the camera and maybe even slightly better durability thanks to a smaller glass area. Ironically this smaller glass seems to be more prone to breaking. Tons of reports have started to pop up on Reddit, the Google support forums, and Twitter claiming the camera glass just shattered one day. Besides the hundreds of responses on Reddit and the support forums, hitting up #pixel7brokencamera on Twitter will give you an endless stream of gruesome pictures.

Honor x9a, just got curious as its main selling point is "ultra-tough" curved display. This guy did a lot of test, mukhang matibay nga. Although disappointed it only has SD 695. But 5100 mah battery and 256 GB storage, 8+5 GB ram. Launched in Malaysia ₱18.8k. Seems like a good midrange for clumsy people.

Am thinking about it kaya lang amg mahal . The gains have to be worth it.

    Camera...battery...speed...features.

I have an iphone 13 pro max and am underwhelmed by it. Android so much more powerful for customisation.

I heard pixel can't connect to 5g here in PH, and no vowifi and volte in PH telco?

S23 is iterative, almost barely an upgrade to the S22:
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23+, S23 and Galaxy Book3: Specs, Price, Release Date | WIRED

I have a different experience after moving to iPhone from Samsung Note. After the initial birth pains, the seamlessness of the iOS ecosystem got me hooked. Airdrop and just the consistency of everything from older iPhones to iPads to Macbook made it feel easier.

So will be upgrading to iPhone 14 Pro this year instead if going back to Samsung.

From my experience, vowifi and volte is functioning on both Globe and Smart. Will just need to request from the telcos if not activated in current plan.

About volte, I was wondering why my daughter's S23 can't make a normal call when my non Samsung phone can. Then we tried to off the volte, and the call went through. Is there something I need to know about volte as to why it hampers calling? We can't really tell/analyze when and where this happens as we rarely use phone calls nowadays, only for those that you don't have connection to voice apps.

moving from Android to iOS (and vice versa) is hard.

    for me, I prefer Android

But yes, iMessage, Facetime and Airdrop. no choice but to move to iOS this year (after 10 years of using Galaxy S/Note and Pixel/Nexus)

Yeah i like both (i have the ipads and the 13th gen iphone) . In fact i have more IOS devices (3) than android (i only have 1 Android device).

But i prefer Android as my primary device. Shrug. And i hate the lightning connector on the iphone. My ipad mini has usb C and my ipad Air is using usb c.

    Reddit - Dive into anything

A little bit of controversy about the 100x zoom of s23 ultra. It seems Samsung is using too much A.I. on the image. Anyway I don't if this kind of image processing also applies to personal images.
