can certain phones give its users a clear survival advantage over users of other phones?

i mean it's obvious people who own smartphones (any brand) have survival advantage over people who don't

for example mga nawalan ng trabaho during pandemic

dahil meron smartphone pwede mag online selling -- may hanapbuhay (survival advantage) compared to those without smartphone

pero among smartphone users, do we also see an obvious survival advantage in users of certain phones?

as obvious as the difference between have-phones and no-phones

hindi diba?

mas malakas ba magbenta ng kotse sa Marketplace mga naka iphone dahil mas maganda photos nila?

mas mabilis ba ma-promote ang empleyadong naka iphone dahil mas productive sila?

Mas mainit sa mata ng magnanakaw at kidnapper pag nakita yung 3 camera cluster sa likod ng iPhone. Especially sa kids and teens that obviously doesn't have a job. Lalo na kung latest iPhone meaning it isn't a hand me down from parents. It's a ripe target.

Agree on the iphone being a luxury. But I like its reliability. Iba talaga pag closed system, walang nakikialam na ibang developer sa operating system nya.

That's the reason naman why I do NOT buy iphones. I guess I am stuck with the 90s mentality when you "build/assemble" PCs according to your specifications. I'm no techie but I like having that option of tinkering when you need to. My Mom offered to buy me an iPhone when it first came out, but I refused because I did not want an Apple, pero I did ask for an iPod na buhay pa until now! Makes me wonder if I should have started with an iPhone nga? Akala ko kasi hindi matibay Apple. Number one sakin ang reliability.

Anyway, I am stuck with Samsung kasi it's the ease of transfer of data from one Samsung to another.

I thought it's the other way around kaya ayoko ng Apple kasi my impression is you can tinker with Android more. Most of the seniors in my family use iphones and for me it is NOT intuitive kasi when they ask me to fix something on their phone, hindi ko makapa. Even that circle on the screen nalilito ako what is that for.

I NEVER saw phones as a status symbol. Even those that live in squatter's area have iphones, example yung mga starlets or paid women, don't they always have the latest iphone models? Sa Tulfo na lang yung mga complainant dun pinagaawayan yun niregalong iPhone sa bawian LOL! I can't tell a 2012 vs 2022 iphone. Mas lalo na sa malayun, I can't distinguish an iphone vs android. I'm not dumb naman but are people that much aware of phone models

In general though I don't believe in material status symbol kasi there's too much new money now. Agree on art, a guy I was an item with was an artist and I flat out told him that I am intimidated by him Also recently met an art curator, when she asked me where I worked, I told her and she asked me if I knew X person so casually, the guy just happens to be our former CEO Ibang level na when a person is into art

i think what Sir Boybi meant was android is open source so any smartphone manufacturer can use android and add stuff on top of it (oem customization, bloatware)

like when you buy a samsung phone there are stuff in the phone that Google didn't intend to be there

I use iphone but i dont buy them, plan sya sa office and every 2 years palit ng bago model.

Iphone din dalawang anak ko, ease of use according to them and caters sa needs nila. Not yung Pro na model which is expensive and does not justify the cost.

I agree with boybi about iPhone being strict in their ecosystem. That's why there so many things you can do with android that you can't do with iPhone. Mas makaka galaw ka sa android. Kaya same reason hindi makaka galaw ng malaya ang mga malicious apps sa iPhone unlike sa android.

I remember, I posted it here a couple of years ago. The shopee app have pictures inside its folder na hindi related sa kanya, picture sya ng online learning modules I captured from the office. When I posted that one tsikoteer checked his shopee folder and saw a picture of his ITR inside shopee.

Ever since I didn't give any pictures/album permission sa shopee. I'm assuming shopee can't do this on iPhone because mahigpit security ng iPhone. Or my assumption is wrong?

Yup, ganun nga. Hindi pasada si shopee sa standard na required ni Apple, plus may payments din yan na baka ayaw ni shopee gastusan.

Look for the permissions you gave shopee. Tanggalin mo yung camera saka yung files and media.

Phone in the hospital. Lol. So i use a Samsung Fold 3. Last week after nearly a year i saw some lifting of the pre installed inner screen protector. Didn't mind it as it doesn't affect the usability. Yesterday it literally crawled all the way to the top. And yes, talagang gumapang. At night, the whole center part at thee hinge is black and the whole right side became unresponsive. Diagnosis? Change LCD. Hooray for warranty.
