I don't think they have created enough brand equity to challenge [emoji519] and Samsung just yet. Look at how LG and HTC. They were waylaid. Just my 2 cents.

So, I have an old Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro that my daughter uses. It was a hand-me-down from her older brother.

Yesterday, a purple slob started to appear on the lower-right part of the screen. And today, well the picture below can describe it better than I can.

Question is, will it still be worth it to have the screen replaced?

Men, when i spent some time on the celfone repair shops canvassing for iphone replacement batteries, i observed that samsung lcd panels are very expensive kahit yun J series nila. When customers would opt for the cheaper variant, around 1.5k, problems appear like hard touch, the back button would not function and the like. The original lcd panel would costs around 3.5 to 4k as far as i remember.

Nope if you ask me. Lin dan is correct about the price of oem lcd panels. For 4K plus with the repair, just buy a P6K phone that is brand new.

Got a P9Plus from Smart many years ago. Very few and far between ang updates so I tried looking for a compatible FW online. Turns out that Smart installed a custom dead-end FW that can't be upgraded without resorting to a bit of hacking. Binigay ko na lang sa anak ko.

My current phone is a Samsung A6+ which I got on sale sa Electroworld. Openline even if it came with a free Smart prepaid sim. More than one year nang every quarter may update. Not bad.

if you can score a (cheap) same-model phone, with screen intact, ready for cannibalism...
ask the repairman. many of them do have spare parts bins that they share among themselves.

No. Value of the phone is less than the cost of a new LCD. Just throw the phone away and get a new one.

Happened with my Note 5 before. Even after LCD screen replacement it just leaked again.

Either you wait for Lazada deliveries to go back live, or just buy a phone from FB Marketplace.

All of my recent phones I've bought either from FB, Carousell, or OLX before. No issues naman as long as you deal with a decent seller.

Getting a slightly used but perfect condition phone is much much cheaper vs buying brand new. Got my S8 for 22k when it was selling bnew for 38k. Got my Note 10 for 33k when it was selling new for 53k.

I bought all phones from public FB Marketplace/OLX/Carousell.

I only sell to Ateneo Trade because mas maayos kausap mga tao dun. But when I buy I have no choice but to search publicly because there are more choices.

You just have to be mindful of who you deal with. I usually avoid resellers kasi mas mahal by about 1-2k, but I got my Note 10 from a reseller since I wasn't in the mood to wait for a fresh first owned unit and the one I got was almost brand new and still has intact warranty.
