value for money talaga Redmi Note 8 Pro. ok sa games, sa camera, very good specs for it's price. pwede pa lagyan ng GCam although yung stock cam is enough na for me, a little tweak lang sa snapseed ok na. my wife is using it, nilalaro ko lang from time to time hehe I'm still happy with my Mi A2.

This is intriguing, 65w charger, 0 to 100 in 30 minutes. The charged percentage has 2 decimal places so you can literally see the charge go up. It's satisfying to watch to say the least.

Screen refresh rate new battleground for smartphones... 90 hz is already passe.
And embracing the punch hole front camera instead of last year's pop-up
OnePlus 8 series will feature an ultra smooth 120Hz Fluid Display
[Update: 144Hz refresh rate teased] Redmi K30 launches with a 120Hz screen, Snapdragon 765G, and 64MP Sony IMX686

Samsung S20 Ultra looks really good. My kind of camera specs......

Yes very nice camera. I just hope that the base S20 will have the same cameras (or at least 3 cameras - wide, ultrawide, and 5x tele).
The ISOCELL sensor is very promising as well - low light photos are always a phone's weak spot.
I'd have wanted to go for the S20+ or Ultra but it has a 6.7"/6.9" screen. Way too big. The 6.3" of the Note 10 is quite pushing it already.

Am not so happy with my note 10 + camera in low light conditions vs my much older huawei mate 20 pro. Responsivesness and clarity suffer. Have thought about switching back but too much of a hassle. This s20 ultra gives me hope.
That 100+ megapixel sensor and the 10x optical zoom will be a game changer vs what i currently have. I just hope the lowlight nightmode advances.

The S20 Ultra looks like it will get top-end stuff while the rest have a more traditional 3-lens setup.

Do we really need 108mp? Hehe but i really don't mind having 108mp.
That 10x optical zoom though and the 45W fast charge. 0 to 100 in 74 min.

The Redmi Note10 is proof that 12 MP with a good sensor is better than a crappy 108 MP sensor.
More than the megapixels, I'd prefer a larger sensor. The reason why a full-frame SLR takes better photos than a crop-sensor mirrorless or phone camera is because it has a bigger sensor which works so much better for low light conditions.
One of the rumors was that the 108MP camera will still output 12MP photos but use the best available data from a 3x3 grid (i.e. 9 pixels) to get better detail. In other words, software wizardry to make up for the lack of hardware size.
I'm curious to see how that pans out. While Chinese phones are usuallt first-to-market with the latest specs, Samsung and Apple still execute technology much better.

No wonder samsung and apple stuck to 12MP high quality sensors as opposed to the Chinese's 40MP+ sensors.
It's been 4 gens na of iphones and Galaxy-s and notes na puro 12MP lang.
If we blow up the picture though, ibang usapan yun. Highest MP wins hands down.

honest review. Only good for cropping...
If you're willing to buy 2-3 month old units and plan to sell the phone after 2 years, going flagship isn't significantly more expensive.
First, note that the phone you got from your plan isn't really just 8.8k. The same plan that you got for 999 has the same data/text/call allocation as a line-only plan 799. So effectively you pay 13.6k for your phone (8.8k + 200x24). Resale value of that phone in 2 years will be around 2-3k. So net cash out is 11k.
In comparison, getting a Note 10 now will cost you around 32k. Resale value after 2 years will be about 15k. Thus net cash out is 17k.
So the real difference is just 11k vs 17k instead of the SRP difference of ~20k vs 55k. And for that 2 years you get a much faster phone with more features and a better camera.
