i believed it will be software based.
although my s7e aptX bluetooth still meets my musical needs and sound more than satisfactory, i like to try the LDAC feature of my wireless headphone. the only way is to have a LDAC capable source to match and Xperias are one of them.

Ahh sana nga ganyan na mga new xperia models. I had two old xperia mobiles eh. The 1st one was the budget friendly xperia l which is still with me and then an xperia m4 aqua was given to me by my mom but it was returned when i got a new phone months ago kaya relieved din ako after ilang years eh.
In my experience, both phones become laggy after some time of use. Maybe it is due to the small ram and internal memory kaya ganun. Puros internet lang naman ginagawa ko. Cameras were also inferior than other phones, especially the m4 aqua. But both of them have good battery lives for my use though it could have been better. Ok pa ang walkman/music app na standard sa mga xperia models vs. the standard ones of other phones. Tsaka since hindi naman sya hotcakes sa karamihan ng tao, may unique na dating parin ang xperia sakin.
Sana nga lang improvin pa ng sony yan kase when i look at the reviews sa gsm and they compare their equivalent flagship to an s7, s8 or iphone 8, etc. madalas laging last spot parin siya sa mga comparison tests nila kaya i can't help but feel dull about it although if I'm about to buy one again, hindi ko naman magiging basehan yun sa aking pagpili.
I used to be a sony fan kasi and my family have their appliances. Aside from their phones, merong playstations, tvs, cameras and radios sa home namin pero puro luma na mga ito, not the latest ones.
I got my first Xperia (the Z5 Premium) as a gift, and I liked it a lot due to its water-resistance. My previous phone was an iPhone, so I couldn't compare it to other Android phones. I used it to take pictures underwater (pool, not saltwater) and I was generally satisfied with the performance and battery life. The only downer was the size, which was too big for me. So when I saw the current compact version, I went for it.
No regrets with this phone, ergonomics are good (still a tad too big for me, but it's comfortable to hold and use), there's lots of space, snappy performance, does not get warm when used for videos/games, still water resistant, and it's cheap, too (compared to other SD845-equipped phones). Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.
My old Z5 Premium showed no slowdown, ganun pa rin ang performance like it was new. It just gets a bit too warm when used for heavy browsing/videos/games. Battery life is still good, too.
Agreed. 4/64 should be minimum kahit midrange phones, considering how rich most websites' contents are, plus the many apps which use up RAM/storage. One reason why I ditched Apple was the lack of storage expansion. A micro-SD slot should be a requirement, especially since the cost of micro-SD cards are so low compared to the price difference when opting for higher-capacity internal storage of phones.
That's one thing i highly despise in an iphone. Kaya kahit nakaka-engganyo pa yan, hindi siya practical imho. The lack of external storage expansion and the latest iterations, nawawala na yung essence ng phone with the removal of the ports for the charger and earphones. Ewan ko ba. Iba kasi philosophy ng apple diyan eh. Pamahal nang pamahal pero nagiging pasimple din nang pasimple. 😂
Planned obsolescence, IMO. Although I got iPhones for my mom and aunt, because the phones are admittedly easier to use and they go well with other Apple products (iPads/Macbooks in my case).
For me, though, I'll take Android, warts and all. It has more flexibility and customization, and fits my use-cases better.
i guessed you got the QC35? good noise cancelling indeed. i have both qc35 and sony mdr-1000x. both have its own merits. more features for the mdr though, and it suits wirelessly well with my s7e aptX bluetooth.
you might want to check out Sony's WH-1000MX2, the newer version of the MDR-1000X which i have. its on sale now. it will definitely compliment your new Xperia being same brand and carrying the LDAC codec. the B&W PX might be good to consider as well

My LG V20 died last Friday. Unable to power on. Changing battery or charging it does not power it on. Brought sa GH and was told after diagnosing na baka logic board na problem. Kung kelan pa out of warranty saka nasira. Might replace it nalang with OnePlus 5T. Ang mahal ng S9+. Willing lang ako gumastos ng malaki kung yung Note 9 will have the fingerprint scanner just like sa S9/S9+.

Thanks for the tips! I've got both the Sony and B&W in my amazon wishlist. One of them should be in the next incoming balikbayan box. And yes, it was the QC35, pretty good ANC if I may say so. I'll go ahead and read reviews for the Sony + B&W. Leaning towards Sony because, well, Sony phone + Sony cans (parang bagay kasi hahaha!)
Last I did was update yung stock-based kernel. Rooted yung V20 ko but still using stock ROM. Not sure kung dahil ba sa kernel na gamit ko but it was running fine for several days bago nagkaissue. Gusto ko talaga yung V20 even if major problem ang image retention. Currently using my old LG G3 pero problema naman nito yung WiFi tapos pati SIM card tray. Both inipitan ko ng papel or a small card para gumana. Yung WiFi, 5GHz nalang gumagana properly. Di tuloy ako makagamit hotspot using G3
