OT: Not just the brand but the model also. I don't really understand why some people are so passionate with their phones

My Note 2 is almost 5 yrs old and I get comments ALL THE TIME that I should replace it. The last time my friends and I had a get together, inaasar nila ko not to use my phone for pictures kasi bulok, pangit camera etc etc hahaha.

I'll get a Note 8 if it is time to replace my Note 2. But I am only willing to spend P30k

Status symbol kasi ma'am yung phones for them. Personally, i was one of them nung HS days ko pa. Pero nagbago na yung view ko since college kasi nag-cocommute yung iba.

Ako naman kasi hilig ko talaga mobile phones, it started out back in grade school, bibigay sakin ni papa yung retention phone niya, a Globe customer representative asked me to check the specs of the (legendary) K800i at GSMArena. Ayun, naging habit ko na mag compare and research.

I treat my phones as accessories rather than tools, kaya sobrang sakit kapag nakakakita ako ng dent or gasgas, the same way most of you spend extra money on detailing and add-ons 🤣

For me, i'd rather use Xiaomi than LG and HTC.

Horrible yung experiences ko with the latter 2 brands that i've mentioned.

LG-Broken digitizer after 6 months. Hindi naman naipit sa bulsa ko. (LG G2)

HTC-Build quality issues (HTC Desire HD and Explorer)

I know luma na yung mga example ko na units but they were the top of the line for their respective brands during that time. But since then either Samsung or Apple nalang ako. But will try Huawei in the near future..

The only thing I didn't like with Huawei is when pairing with cars bluetooth. It will play and control the huaweis default player and not the one currently using like spotify.

Totoong totoo yan. Kaya hindi na din ako sumasabay sa "upgrading" game kasi halos lahat same looks and features na.

Para saakin yung peak ng "upgrading" game is mid-2000s. K800i, N70, P900 and etc etc.

I communicated to both Vincent garcia Online gsm repair services; quoted me 2.7K for the replacement of the LCD screen and Cell Active quoted 1.8K for the same job, both from Greenhills and both are claiming orig parts daw and both offered 1 month warranty.

Please I need your help to decide which one to choose?

IMO, ok na ako sa GH, I've read mutiple positive reviews naman, plus with my terrible experienceS (may S talaga) with Sony's after sales service? I got my Z5 from grey market na lang. The extra 10K for unusable warranty isn't worth the added price.

We got 2 pcs Xperia Z3 Compacts with totally unresponsive screens. Both are expensive paper weights now.

It depends on you bro. In my case, I don't frequent Metro Manila. Too much hassle for me to repair my phone there. So I just decided to buy a brand new Asus phone in Harbor Point Subic. 1 year Asus warranty.

my last iphone was years ago

wanted to try android so i bought a Huawei Y5 on impulse (mura kasi eh)

liked it, sold it after a couple of months, bought a Samsung A5 (at that time i still had the thinking that samsung is better than Huawei)

then a super techie nerd friend from China visited us and he was using a P9 (di pa released dito)

i'm like hey if this guy is using a P9 it must be good (well yeah he's from China so baka biased siya sa brand nila pero kahit na)

so i got myself a P9 when it got released here
