Bili ka na lang ng external LCD. You can buy LED LCDs for as low as 3K+.

Tablet, Apple, Sony Xperia Tablet, or any nVidia Tegra3 powered tablet.

Sony Xperia Phones are nice.

Pwede rin yung simpleng Samsung Android Phone nalang tapos Apple iPad 3 or iPad 2 kung meron pa Don't settle for cheap tablets, sayang pera brother.

Sabi nya kasi sira na ang laptop LCD, might as well take advantage of its processing power instead of it being unuseable.

But anyway, if after Mobility, these days, mas gusto ko ang Sony VAIO T instead of tablet. Pwede rin tablet if you just like to browse and not post lenghty replies. Personally, I still prefer the mobility offered by iPod Touch (iPad is just way too big as a carry anywhere device) - but then you'll encounter the dilemma na marami naman touch phones ngayon which can do the same job - which gives you either iPhone4S, or Xperia V / Acro S, both Sonys offer waterproof and dustproof characteristics. iPod Touch 5Gen will be here in the PH soon.

As for downloader, marami nang NAS ngayon na may built-in downloader app.

14,000 Nexus vs 25,900 New IPad

Google Nexus 7 wants to take on the Apple iPad
    YUGATECH *Infotek · Friday, October 5, 2012 · 9:37 am

After a couple of months using the Google Nexus 7, I have completely forgotten about my iPad 3. The tablet is compelling enough that it can practically replace, and probably even best, Apple’s venerable tablet.

Many tablets have tried and failed to make a dent at Apple’s dominance in the tablet market. So, instead of just sitting down and watching other manufacturers try their best, Google is taking the lead and partnered with Asus to build what could be potential contender against the iPad.

Here are several factors that we think made the Nexus 7 a winner.

    Size and form factor

Seven-inch tablets have been around since the early days of Android tablets. The Nexus 7 is just one of many but, at this size, it is no longer a burden to decide whether to bring a tablet or not. We believe more and more tablets will settle for this size. Even the rumored iPad Mini is said to be in the 7-8 inches.

    Android Jellybean

The Nexus 7 came out as the first with Google’s latest Android Jellybean. The latest release of Android proved to be as smooth and optimized that the experience is very similar or close to iOS.

That, plus the fact that Android allows for almost unlimited customization with a number of native features that integrate other Google services.

We can say that Android has finally matured and it’s one of the best-selling feature of the Nexus 7. Of course, the JB update would eventually find its way into the older tablets soon.

    Asus’ hardware expertise

Asus, Google’s device partner for the Nexus 7, managed to create a really solid hardware on a tight budget. The Nexus 7 is powered by the latest NVidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and a 7-inch IPS LCD 720p display.

Asus and Google had to scrimp a bit, leaving storage options to just 8GB or 16GB, no microSD card option, skipping the rear camera. It may not be complete if you want to look at the whole list of hardware features but the ones that they decided to bring in are the essentials.

And that’s probably the reason why they are able to offer it at a tempting price category.

    Google’s competitive pricing

Google surprised a lot of people by introducing the Nexus 7 at an unbelievably low price of only $199 (for the 8GB model; around Php8,500) and $249 (for the 16GB model, or Php10,500). Google may not be making any money on that 8GB model but that sacrifice would pay off by the massive adoption of the tablet and showcasing the power of Android Jellybean.

Based on our sources, the Nexus 7 will finally be released in the Philippines with only the 16GB at a price of just under Php14,000.

And its the poor US parents who forked out for those....

40% of US teens have iPhones - survey
    BY AGENCE FRANCE PRESSE
    Posted on 10/10/2012 11:36 PM | Updated 10/10/2012

NEW YORK, United States of America - Two out of five American teenagers have an iPhone, in a sign that Apple is the "pre-eminent technology brand" for youth, a survey by a financial firm shows.

In its semi-annual survey of over 7,700 teens, Piper Jaffray found that 40 percent had an iPhone, up from 34 percent six months earlier and 23 percent a year ago.

"We believe it is a positive sign for the power of the iPhone among younger users that Apple was able to expand its market share with teens despite no new product launches between our spring and fall 2012 surveys," analyst Gene Munster wrote in a note to clients dated Tuesday.

"Apple appears well positioned to see continued growth in ownership with 62 percent of teens planning on purchasing an iPhone as their next phone. Android was the next closest smartphone at 22 percent."

The survey also showed 44 percent had a tablet computer -- of which 72 percent were iPads.

Among those who don't own a tablet, but plan to purchase one in the next six months, 74 percent said they would choose an iPad.

The survey results leave the firm "reaffirmed in our belief that Apple remains the pre-eminent technology brand for teens," Munster said.

Munster added that if Apple, as widely expected, introduces a smaller, less expensive version of its tablet, this "could eventually increase iPad ownership among younger users."

"Overall, we expect Apple devices to continue to expand in teen ownership and believe that the company is set up well to benefit from loyalty among its younger user base."

Apple shares, which have fallen from a peak last month above $700, rose 1.1 percent to $642.80 early Wednesday. - Agence France Presse

I doubt all of these make believe news articles, check all Hollywood movies and tv series since 2010, every actor is sporting an iPhone.

All my friends in the US still use IPhones and are now posting pics of their New Iohone 5's.

The news that area reaching are shores are just created for propaganda, it's like that Samsung paying apple with 2 billion coins as well as that Ipad3 overheats.

Ipad will not release an ipad mini version, what they will release is an elongated version of the ipad as is the ip4 to ip5 ratio.

They have to match the ratio in resolution increase, para madali ang migration ng apple third party apps.

    -----

What samsung is doing is just useless, they 4" then 7" then 9" then 10". Ano yan lcd monitor? 13", 14"', 15",17" etc

Now why did apple increase the resolution of the iphone5, syempre for 16:9 movie/hd screen which is the new standard. And with itunes leading the the distribution of hd movies and tv series sa net, they have to do so.

Apple does not think like Asian - laki screen, dami apps. Heck apple dont even get the biggest share of their profits sa idevices, it's itunes that's earning a lot! And it's backed by Hollywood, top record and movie producers etc.

Ang wala lang backing si apple is the **** industry, that's why ayaw ni Jobs ang flash sa idevices nya, coz most streaming **** are flash-based before. apple values social rsponsibility, something that Samsung with their copycat ways and Google with their ads priority biz can never match.

kaya maswerte si Apple, coz di lang sya business,- and somehow, most of us who buy their products emulate their good aura.
