Just had my electric service connection with MERALCO. There's no provision in the application or contract allowing MERALCO to charge you for something which was supposed to have been paid. I hope you somehow kept your receipts or other evidence of payment. Get a lawyer and tell them they won't see a red cent. Remember, they have the BURDEN OF PROOF in showing that you didn't pay. It'll come out that they were the ones responsible for the error and that they can't rely on their mistake to run after you.
