Lately, I'm experiencing intermittent internet connection and I found out it was caused by this router. Whenever my browser returns a page cannot be displayed error or something similar, I'll have to turn OFF and ON the router and my internet connection will be back to normal. Can this be fixed?

February 16th, 2009 09:05 AM #2We have the same problem, im also using a linksys wrtg54g, but di ko alam if its the router or the modem yung problem, kasi meron naman wifi connection but walang internet connection, ganun din ang ginagawa ko, i turn off the router and the internet connection.

February 16th, 2009 11:17 AM #4I am using the same router but its A-ok over here. Sometimes yeah I have to reset the router by plugging it out but after I plug it in its ok again. And it does not happen veryr often...

February 16th, 2009 12:38 PM #6I have had this problem. I have tried reflashing the router with an update for it's software. Same results. Solution, replaced the router. It was the same story with FOUR Linksys wifi routers located either in my home, my parent's home and at my two PC rental shops. All routers have been replaced by their TP-Link equivalents.

i am planning to buy a router for my new home. would any of you recommend a good yet reasonably priced router, please? i am planning to buy one today or tomorrow or as soon as globe would be able to install its line...
also, i need one that's easy to install...easy to troubleshoot.

February 16th, 2009 02:16 PM #10TP-Link. Choose the "N" band routers especially if you are planning to setup a whole new wifi-network. If you are familiar in configuring routers, you shouldn't have much trouble with it. February 16th, 2009 03:32 PM #13Either TP-Link and D-Link DIR-615 are okay. My Linksys WRT300N hasn't given me any problems except 1 or 2 times that it wasn't giving me internet access.
If you can afford it, connect your routers to good UPS'es or at least surge protectors. Nasira kasi agad iyung isang DIR-615 namin. Pero yung kasabay niyang 3 units, oks pa naman.

February 16th, 2009 11:49 PM #18i've been using a linksys wrt54gs router for more than 2 years now, that's 24/7, off only during power interruptions. no problems except for the occasional reboot.
on the other hand, my first linksys, wrt54g, had frequent disconnections.

Napa check ko na nga sa PLDT wala problems modem daw
might be ang problem is yung DSL parang PLDT ang may problem have
to on and off my router also to be connected... thats just my observation..

My oldest linksys router was pretty stable and actually lasted longer than the more recent batch. I also noticed a general drop in the build quality/features which is kinda a disappointment for a trusted brand name. Originally Posted by Gen. Miting
BTW, my PC shop operated from 1999 to 2007 (sold my last shop at end of 2007). In that time, one shop went through THREE linksys routers at an average of 1.5 years a router. Compare that to your brother's six month old router. Before using routers, I was using an old PC running Linux as my shop's internet gateway.
