    my wild guess is,
them batteries can be replaced, and are designed to be replaced.
but if the user does not know how to maintain his own equipment nor care enough to know...

There's a setting in the chromecast to control the volume of TV using the chromecast remote. Have you set it up? The chromecast will give a list of TV brands to choose from, then will tell you to try each IR code on your TV.

It has same thing for power button on chromecast.

All my buttons are working in my google remote (power button, left, right, up, down, okay button, netflix, youtube) except for the volume rocker at the side. Where can I find settings in chromecast?

Setting -> remotes and accessories -> setup remote buttons -> add device ->TV

Then it will show a list of TV brands.

Slightly off-topic since this thread specifically says LED and not OLED, but I posted this in another forum:

Rtings updated their long-term image retention results for OLEDs:
Longevity Burn-In Investigative Paths After 3 Months: QD-OLED vs. WOLED, LG vs. Sony, And More - RTINGS.com

tl;dr: For some reason Sony TVs are degrading faster than LG's despite using the same panel. QD-OLED more at risk of burn-in compared to WOLED.

I was watching this video, he is complaining that his 3 months old Samsung TV won't turn on anymore. I'm not an expert electrician, but it seems the aircon above the TV can be the reason? screenshot_20231207-121311.jpg

I don't think aircon coldness or the moisture is the culprit. The unit is new and just 3 months old. Did he tried replacing the remote battery with a new one? or sync the remote with the tv? can you send the full link of the video.
