You should buy the 3.5mm (earphone jack) with three slits to RCA cable. But the one that has 3 RCA jacks.

This is around 120-150 pesos in malls (DIY, Ace etc).

Usually the red one is the video.

if you buy from apple, cable is around 1800 ata. Same function. hehe

Ano po ba yung slits? Saan ko makikita sa jack iyon? Yep, I've seen those cables being sold at mall hardware stores. That's where my bro got his cable. I was just wondering how will I know if the cable will only transmit audio or both audio and video. I guess those slits are the answer? :D

    *doc otep

yes, the headphone jack of ipod video actually also carries the video output signal ... you'll need the proper cable though, specific for ipod video, as these cables do not have standard pinout connections, and most of those sold at mall hardware stores are not compatible with ipod

Since the ipod video cable is expensive and not readily available as separate purchase, i opted to buy one cheap cable at the hardware and modified its pinouts to comply with ipod specs. Check this webpage for info:

Dun po sa metal part ng earphone jack, yung black na bands, yun po ang slit.

Red RCA -> TV's yellow RCA jack
Yellow RCA -> TV's white RCA jack
White RCA -> TV's red RCA jack

May cable bang ganun? hehehe. (Just thinking out loud).

May electricity output din kasi ang mic port e (to power up the coil in microphones), electricity out din (albeit low) ang galing sa iPod (or other audio/video devices with line-out).

    Next Question:

The head unit in my vehicle is an old school Clarion ADX series (see pic).

It can only read casettes and audio CD's and doesn't seem to have any AUX inputs.

I'm planning to get those FM Modulator things from CD-R King so I can play songs from flashdisk: http://www.cdrking.com/local/product...or/Transmitter

    Probably something like this:

    Whose specs read:
    Specifications

    • Built-in FM transmitter
    • With remote controller
    • Read MP3 file from the USB flash disk directly and broadcast through the car FM tuner
    • Line-in function that enables you to enjoy music from the external audio device such as CD and MD player
    • Four functional keys: Play / Pause, Prev / V-, Next / V+ and Ch
    • Adjust channels within 87.7 - 88.9MHz or 106.7 - 107.9MHz
    • Car cigar socket power supply (12V DC power)
    • USB1.1 interface with high transfer speed
    • 7 green LEDs that indicate 7 preset channels
    • 1 red LED which indicates work state (play or pause)
My question is, can I also use this FM modulator to enable the iPod to play through the vehicle's audio system?

Will I be controlling the iPod through the modulator or still through the iPod wheel interface?

I don't really mind the crappy sound associated with FM modulators as long as I can hear the songs (the stock sound system is not that good to begin with, anyway).

    Thanks.

It will just make the audio worse.

And no, you can't control the ipod thru the FM modulator.

Go for the cassette adaptor instead.

Isn't it supposed to sound just like FM radio? On my father's rig, the DVD player's audio is also coursed through an FM modulator and I can live with the quality.

How about for playing flashdisks? Ok na ba ang modulator?

you can use ipod dock and plug it in the HU aux mas OK ang sounds, i am also using Belkin FM transmitter ok naman ang sounds, before kasi ang gamit ko is digidock fm transmitter free kasi sa iRiver pero di maganda ang sounds so I tried Belkin brand for iRiver and iPod mas maganda siya at pure ang sounds wala siyang interference.

    OTEP:

hehehe, if you can live with it, then i guess that's okay na. Flash disk player is about the same.

But believe me, ang layo ng quality ng sound ng cassette adaptor.

Any idea kung saan makakabili nito? Meron sa hardware sa Trinoma pero ayaw gumana (no images appear on the TV) Sa ACE Greenhills naman puro two-band lang ang stock.

Btw, I already bought the CDRking FM modulator (Php750.00 without remote control). For me the sound quality is good enough (no different from listening to FM radio). The best thing is, it remembers the last track you were on even if you turn off the engine or unplug the unit from the power outlet. It also included a cable to allow it to be used as an FM modulator for the iPod (I didn't know it had this feature). You still control the iPod via the iPod unit itself.

Was at Trinoma kanina, the cheapest cable was Php700. Took the plunge na since lugi pa sa biyahe kung pupunta ng Greenhills.

Put the audio RCA's into the AUX in of an AIWA mini component system and the video RCA into the TV.

Ran the wires to the TV stealth-style using lots of female-female RCA extenders and single-RCA cables. No cables are visible except for the iPod jack on the bedside table.

    Ayos na ayos.
