Inverter type aircon really gives you savings of around 50% compared with conventional type.

Any pilferage pinapasa sa consumers.

Anyway, kagustuhan kasi ng mga pinoy na i-privatize ang energy and fuel para nga raw may competition among sellers....instead what we got is a cartel. Hehehe

Way back in the 60's, electricity was goventment controlled. Way back before the 90's fuel was government regulated.

one way to save electricity is too turn off avr when not in use. a typical avr will draw around 5 to 15 watts when turned on. this happens even if your computer is off. the avr itself draws power. also unplug electric fans, tv, and other stuff when not in use. its called phantom power or vampiric current draw.

another way is to inc the thermostat (warmer) on your aircon and use electric fans to move the air around. the compressor will have less load when you do this.

plus 10 dun sa aircon with electric fan. nakakatulong din yung wind chill effect para di mo na kelangan ibaba pa ang thermostat. like instead na 22-24deg ka, pwedeng 26deg na lang. mas konti current draw nung fan kesa always on yung aircon mo just to maintain the lower temp.

also learn to use your tv's sleep timer. kadalasan ginagawa nating pampaantok ang manuod ng tv, hanggang sa makatulugan na nga. so kung nakatulog ka ng 1am at nagising ka ng 7am... that's 6hrs na umaandar tv mo for nothing.

yung ref, tingnan mo the lowest that you can set the thermostat and still get good cooling. malamig pa rin ang tubig at nakakapag-yelo pa rin. nasasayang lang din kung laging nakatodo.so huwag din punuin ng sobra-sobra ang ref na good for two weeks na, lalo na kung malapit ka lang naman sa grocery o sa palengke.

buti nga ngayon, kadalasan eh laptop na lang... so less power draw than desktops. mga desktops din naka-flat panel na so again, less draw than the tube type monitors of yesterday. aaahhh.... i feel old.

It is possible but why? Are you going to run your house on pure battery power?

yes TV draws power even off. At least this is what I measured on my old school crt tv with the Omni power meter. IIRC my old school tv draws around 10 watts even with it off. Current LCD and LED TVs should be a lot more efficient.

Ang tawag nila ngayon diyan,- vampire power loss.

But almost all of it, if not all(it depends... ),- hysteresis loss...
