I narrowed my search sa MSI Wind at toshiba NB250 or NB300 series. may mga freebies kasi. Yung isa ay Free office pero i-check ko pa baka trial version naman.Last edited by KERSMcRae; October 3rd, 2010 at 12:19 PM.

I am currently using the Asus1005PE with Windows7 Starter and Amazon Kindle for PC (haven't tried it yet though), which I purchased recently (from Amazon).
So far, so good, living up to my limited expectations of the unit....

Its one of the fastest netbook on the market by pure CPU/GPU power. You can play some of the more demanding games on it but don't expect to do Starcraft 2 though.
By default the CPU and fan exhaust gets pretty hot because power saving is not enabled by power-on default. You can choose from several netbook power profiles under Windows 7. On my U210x with 2gb ram, I find "movie" mode gives me the best balance of cpu speed and power endurance while keeping the CPU and system exhaust cooler too. There is a "turbo-battery" mode which easily can get nearly 7 hours of battery life from the nine cell battery on my U210x. Performance gets slightly sluggish and you can feel it when scrolling the internet browser up and down but as a whole, the system is still snappy enough not to be bothered that much.
The U230 is spec'd with a six cell battery so expect a lower battery life unless you can give a nine-cell too.
You can upgrade the U230 up to 4gb of ram which is great for users who run rather bigger applications on their netbooks.
As for traveling, I have travelled to New Zealand, Singapore and Boracay with my MSi Wind12 U210x and so far the experience is great. The Wind12 is a bit bigger and a tad heavier than the usual netbook. But that gives you a bigger screen and bigger keyboard which is worth the bother at the end of the day for me.
I have used 8.9 inch and a 10 inch netbooks before and I always felt compromised with the compactness versus usability of it all. The 12 inch netbook I have now has the compromise of slightly less battery life and added weight but the weight is still lighter & battery life still longer than a full sized laptop.
So for a mobile PC for work, play and travel, the MSi Wind12 U2xx series is something worth to seriously consider.
The only upgrade I did with my U210x is the HDD, upgrading the original 250gb to a 500gb HDD.

Thanks GH.
The 10" is ok for me. I prefer it to be as handy and compact as possible.
I got the Wind 135DX. It comes with Atom N455, 1Gb ram with 1 extra slot, Genuine W7 and office 2010 (word /excel only), and bundled with optical drive. I'll be using it in Canada , just for some browsing, not too much reading.
Im also looking for a good support forums. I have searched some but no active posts and others are archived.

Not a bad netbook but the N455 processor has no performance gains over the older N270 and N280. So the Wind u135 will just perform just as well as the U100x.
In my case, whenever I upgrade PCs (and netbooks) I want to have some performance gains, hence my choice of the Wind12 with AMD Neo dualcore CPU.

Right now I have a Fujitsu U series with a 5 inch screen with keyboard. It's small so it's easy to lug around. I don't like big screened computers.
It is so handy during presentations.
My next purchase would be this one: VILIV N5

I like browsing the net lying down. I have no problems reading small prints... so I love very small and portable computers. It is so easy to carry around.
