    Lenovo S10-2 is currently very popular because prices have lowered to 21K and styling is very good for a netbook. It's also available with 6 cell battery which should give it around 5 hours of battery time.

    I am using a MSi Wind U100+ ... memory is already 2gb, 250gb HDD with 6 cell battery. I have already upgraded it with a 500gb HDD and 9 cell battery for longer battery time.

    hi sir GH...... i have managed to sell my dell netbook and planning to buy this sony netbook.can i ask for your opinion with this new netbook of sony before i buy it? it costs equivalent to US$585 here in ksa. thanks again.

    You mean this particular Sony netbook? (if not, just give us a link to what you plan to buy)

    Er... if you want the looks, it's hard to beat but for everything else including usability, battery life, price. etc... it is a poor choice.

    If you want to check out prices and specs, you can try out PC Corner's website:

    http://www.pccorner.com.ph/controlle...n=mobilecorner

    Then choose Sony as the manufacturer of choice then SEARCH.

    If you want a Sony netbook:

    If you want high performance in a thin, sleek looking package, then look no further than the new Sony VAIO TT notebook. Weighing in at only 1.3 kg, and with an 11.1” screen, the TT is designed with mobile users in mind.

    Powered by a Centrino processor and with Blu-ray and SSD options available, the TT is great, but not intended for someone with a small wallet, as the Blu-ray model starts at the not-so-cheap price of $2700.

    2700! Malamang pagdating dito nyan or if meron man overpriced na. I'm getting a Canon 50d din kasi 50k is fine for a laptop but that TT looks nice since my laptop right now is 11", good enough for designing. Thanks! PC Corner nga pala yun, nakalimutan ko na kasi haha

    thanks again.
    A few issues:
    -memory limited to 1gb (not upgradable)
    -graphics chip is intel 950 (meaning its not any faster than other brands like MSi, Lenovo, Acer, etc)
    -only 2 usb ports (others have three)
    -short battery life (rated at 2.5 hours, real life would get less than 2 hours)

    Plus side:
    -wifi N
    -SD card slot + Memory stick slot
    -bluetooth

    Personally, this is nothing to crow about. In fact, you'll be back with the same problem as you had with your DELL if you get this netbook.

    Why not just get the LENOVO S10-2 ?? It would have the same specs but it's upgradable to 2gb memory. Plus you get a six cell battery giving you at least 4 or more (real world) hours of battery time.

    Regarding Photoshop, I have run PS CS2 on my netbook. It's a little slow to load but runs well enough to do quick edit on good sized images. I haven't tried editing large sized images that I do on my desktop unit but I am sure the performance would be as expected.

    I haven't tried Adobe Illustrator on my netbook.

    Why not try looking at ASUS N10 ? Originally priced at around US$700 early this year, I have seen the price go down at some of the local retailers (in Manila).

    What makes this netbook different from the rest is the two graphics chips: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 AND Nvidia 9300m GS 256MB DDR2 ... meaning you can play games on the faster chip or save battery by using the Intel 950 chipset. Switching between chipsets require a reboot though.

    The rest of the specs are typical:

    * Screen: 10.2” WSVGA (1024 x 600) Glossy LED, w/Ambient Light Sensor
    * Processor: Intel Atom N270 processor at 1.66Ghz
    * Graphics: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950
    * Nvidia 9300m GS 256MB DDR2
    * Memory: 1GB DDR2 PC-5300 667
    * Hard Disc: 160GB 5400 rpm w/Freefall Sensor (Seagate)
    * Wireless: Atheros AR92X Wireless Network Adapter (A/B/G/N), Bluetooth V2.0 + EDR
    * Optical Drive: N/A
    * Ports and Slots: 3 USB 2.0, HDMI,VGA monitor out, headphone jack, microphone input, 8-in-1 SD card reader (SDHC compatible), Kensington Lock slot, Ethernet 10/100, ExpressCard/34, Microphone-in, and Line-out/ S/PDIF
    * Operating System: Windows XP Home SP3 + Express Gate.
    * Features: Built in 1.3Mp Camera/Microphone/Fingerprint reader
    * Battery: 11.1v 4800mAh 53Wh 6 Cell Lithium
    * Dimensions: 27.6 cm (W) x 19.5 cm (D) x 2.99-3.71 cm (H)
    * Weight: 1.40 kg with 3-cell battery
    * Warranty: 2-Year Limited Global Warranty

    Another plus is the looks:
