Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
Goes to show how bad Intel is ripping off customers with 5% IPC improvements per generation. And they have the audacity to call it all-new. So tempted to build a new rig just to run benchmarks lol. That 1700 is a price-performance beast.
i'm gonna overclock the $hit out of ryzen that's for suremy watercooling's been gather dust for too long
from: Watch Out Intel: AMD Announces Ryzen Processor Line | www.unbox.ph
"PH pricing is a little higher, with the Ryzen 7 1800X coming at Php 27,000, while the 1700X is priced at Php 21,000 while the 1700 is at Php 17,500."
engineering samples appear to have voltage bug on cpu-z when put under ln2. but that doesn't matter to me![]()

The Power of Marketing - AMD's Ryzen Hype Train Hyperloops On | techPowerUp
this is what I've been worrying about. even if they will be shipping a million parts on launch, it seems that it won't be enough to meet the demand.
the hype train has gone crazy levels!
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?
youll need an adapter for the wateblock..

well, not necessarily since there's still that plastic bracket present in some motherboards
he'd probably have to modify the metal retainer bar though...

massive price cuts from intel

link didnt work for hours.
link works now.. massive discounts on the kabylake! and it was released just 4 weeks ago.
4c8t kabylake
cant compete with the 6c12t 😆
I still need nvme before I jump to kabylake( or an unlocked skylake -cheaperrrrrrr)

modding the waterblock clamp should be easy.
but i think i'll wait for the ryzen 5![]()
yan ba yun dual socket? 🤔

i'll probably go for the ryzen 5 w/ 6 cores (12threads). should be cheaper. it's just a toy anyway. i don't have any use for a powerful PC right now...
yep that should be an interesting possibility given that 6-cores are just 8core w/ 0/1/2 bad cores
anyway the reviews are out! ryzen performs very well on workstation apps. but isn't so hot in gaming. which is OK since i'm not a gamer. i'll just be using it as a video encoding machine
and not to mention that the platform isn't mature yet for games. I suspect that it still needs a few driver updates until we see the full potential. AMD does have a tendency to be lackluster on games at launch and shine the most after 2-3 months.

deym! I wasn't expecting Zen's cache to be this good!
so far, the platform is limited by memory speed and the cpu likes very low latency. Hmmm... they did mention that current memory offerings aren't that good with Ryzen.
I really think we still need wait until proper hardware and software support and optimization comes out in a few months to see how far it can stretch its legs.
so far, even monitoring tools aren't working properly with Ryzen.

no 6g yet on ln2. hmmm

Intel Core i7 69 K * HWBOT
well... intel's similar 8 core(6900k) only goes 5.2 on ln2 as well... 6950x goes 5.7
maybe if they spread the cores a bit further, they might be able to clock it faster though it would be stupidly high latency and pointless other than for world records![]()
