Been cleaning house and found a mostly unused and still in its orog box Antec 450W PSU which I bought just to test something.

I do not have the receipt anymore but I'm guessing I got this around 2008 (same time AMD 780g chipset was popular) which makes it a decade plus old.

Is this still any good? Good enough to sell? I know electrolytic capacitors tend to degrade over time.

Power it on and leave it on for a while.
Take note of any whinning sounds.
Short green and black wire using paper clip to turn on.

I got a ocz modxtream that is almost the same era as yours and it still working fine even if it was stocked for years.

Should there be 5v and 12v on the molex connectors? I'm not getting any voltage readings.

Or does it need to have an actual load?

the 24pin green and black has to be shorted to enable psu output... then measure for voltages

    No load needed.
It should have a reading even if no load.

I, on the other hand, am getting mocked by friends and family because my laptop's screen is being held by duct tape. There's also a box behind so the screen will hold in it's place. LOL!

I use my tech objects until is disintegrates haha

Is it relative to the overall performance of the cpu bruh?
    They’re killing the intel?

technically, yes.. both on performance and sales. though thevye yet to reach a sizeable market share.

with the advent of ryzen 4000 and pcie4(nmve and navi video cards) 2020 looks really good for amd.

I always go against the flow. I've had AMD for my DIY from 2001 until 2019. Then, I switched to Intel (i5-8600).

Must be that inner rebel in me. Just like cars. While everyone is buying a crossover, I bought a midsize sedan.

Not if you're using Tapatalk. Unless powered on all the time ang desktop mo which is admittedly less effort nga pero takaw naman sa kuryente.

    don't assume.
    i'm a regular desktop user.

Still have a desktop pc. When the HDD for the OS died, replaced it with SSD. When the USB 2.0 ports gave up, added a USB 3.0 card and additional USB 3.0 ports. When it started giving me way too frequent BSODs, gave the mobo a new lease in life with capacitor replacements. Upgraded RAM to 8GB. Replaced the single-core processor with a Phenom II X4. Soon I'll be replacing the stock cooler with a Deepcool HSF and overclocking it.

I also have a netbook (remember those?) running Linuxmint. Useful for t0rr3nting and not much else.
