Latest Android OS version is Marshmallow, before this is Lollipop, then Kitkat then Jelly Bean.
The older the OS, the more power hungry and cumbersome to use.
You should buy at least a Kitkat tablet. Some apps won't even run on very old OS

December 28th, 2015 05:21 PM #3jelly bean.. kitkat.. lollipop.. marshmallow.. in order of "advancement".
all delicious..
traces down from a candy firm (nestle?), i believe.. who had an investment...
i think kitkat should be the lowest choice, if the popular apps are to be run-able..
look up the requirements of the apps you intend to use, so that you may decide what minimum driver you should consider.Last edited by dr. d; December 28th, 2015 at 05:30 PM.

Consider also a model with a decent front-facing camera if you want to escalate a voice call to a video call.
