I'm going for the Nokia (E71 or E72) since I realised that having a touch screen phone is not practical for me.

What got me interested in the iphone in the first plase was the price. I saw in Bestbuy that it's only $200 (brand new). Why is it that cheap anyway? What's the catch? Is it because it is locked to a service provider, if so can I have it unlocked here?

It probably comes with a mobile phone service subscription that locks you for at least two years.

My vote will be on Nokia, if in Phil. iphones are good not the best or perfect, i should know cuz i do have an iphone 4 and this is my 2nd from apple, i will not advice you or any Filipino in Phil. on getting one not cuz it sucks but its worthless in your part of the world. Iphone works for me cuz where I live, remember what works for me may not work for you. a year ago when I visited Phil got my 3g unlocked so I can use Philippines network i think i had a globe? I feel like im not using my phones full potential or how i use it on my day to day life, not use to slow data service and maybe i dont text a lot. I cant really compair what or how i use my smart phone to people in phil cuz it is like apple and orange, what im trying to say is pick what works for you and the network.

At least the S and the newer iPhone builds have haptic feedback, but it's still not as easy as typing with keys. That's why I don't browse as often with my iPad as I do with my netbook... aside from the fact that I can have twenty-something browser windows open at once on the netbook.

And that's why I still have my Samsung B2100. No 3G. Low-res camera. Few apps. But it's waterproof, shockproof, has good battery life, is easy to text on without looking, comes with a single key keylock, and it has a built-in flashlight to boot. You really don't need anything more from a cellphone.

    Except, maybe, self-charging...

wow you have have so many gadgets. i tried the Ipad so many times in the States and concluded that touchscreen is not for me.

but now, i'm rethinking that thought. almost every young person i know either has a touchscreen iphone or nokia. kaya kelangan magsanay ako for the future.

about the Galaxy S, i tried it at Globe and i dont find it as responsive as the Iphone 4. siguro palipasin ko muna yan Android since bago pa. I also ditched my netbook, nababagalan na ako talaga and sumasakit mata ko browsing at screens 12" and below.

excited ako sa Ipod Touch gen 4 though

You just said your eyes hurt if you use screens 12inches or smaller yet you want a much smaller screen in the Ipod Touch 4.

I guess an Apple Store has opened in Middle Earth too?

Get a Nokia E71 if you want a reliable phone. I dropped mine in the water bucket and after drying for two two days still working. Iyong iPhone mas maganda ang mga apps niya at easier to use. I'm using the iPhone now and I gave the E71 to my son.

Is there now a cut/copy and paste feature on the iPhone4? It's a good feature especially if you are switching from Email to SMS and vv. Also, flash will always be missed...

One thing about the previous iPhones is that it is not so 'robust', in the sense that if you travel from one country to another, the changes in the services do not appear seamless. There will be quirks.....

i think iphone4 can copy and paste. there were instances where i tap hard enough to select paragraphs and the copy command pops up.

E71 and E72 are both good phones. E6x are very slow, keypads wear easily and sound quality sucks. Ang ayaw ko lang sa iPhone punas ka ng punas coz of the shiny finish. E series is more practical for everyday use. iPhone takot ka laging madumihan, magasgas, mahiram etc. Pero apps-wise panalo ang iPhone. Sa games pa lang malayo hehe. You tend to use it more as a toy than a phone.

I have some friends who are using android(?) and they seem to happy with it. Is that exclusive to Samsung phones? I prefer a Nokia phone kasi.
