I was one of those initially turned off by the price. turned out I couldn't resist. what a sucker!
hehe
Already bought 2 of these, one for my mom and one for me.
It's really perfect for computing on the go. Gaan pa dalhin and madaling itago. Haven't tried it's wifi yet sa mga hot spot.
My mom also love her unit. now she doesn't have to carry her ultraheavy laptop for her presentations.

It's not that tiny... the keyboard is still comfortable to type normally.
Price at V-Mall P17,999.00 ... some shops want cash while others can give you 6 to 12 months zero interest in your credit card.
Damn!... I almost bought one when I saw the black eee PC in the window calling out my name.

December 7th, 2007 10:01 PM #57If any of you guys can get the Smart 3g USB modem working with the Asus Eee. Post your experience.
Or You can get the Asus Eee to work with a usb dial up modem.
My PDA small screen is getting me blind.
I want a really small laptop or UMPC. But with a price of $400 only. Im thinking of getting Asus Eee. Only if we can connect it to Smart 3G. Then it gonna be a great gadget.

i guess i got lucky from one of my vendors. when i called, they got a single black unit in stock. sold!
i think $400 is a great price for something very portable. i thought my 4lb averatec will be light enough, but i ended up not taking it with me much. happy with the unit so far since i checked the specs and feedbacks from eee forums. ill use the default distro for now. xp maybe maybe not.
they keys are small, but not too bad. typing felt a little easier after some time. connecting to wifi a little tricky but was able to do it.
just a guess for the usb modem, i think it is either via linux drivers, or wait til the xp eee pc comes out.

Bakamoo of TipidPC has posted an intriguing photo of what appears to be an Asus Eee PC with a 10" LCD. No source was quoted.
For all we know, it could simply be a photoshopped image. Since the screen covers the entire area from bezel to bezel, its diagonal length is actually 9.5 inches. So technically it is not the rumored 10" model.
But it sure looks good, even without the webcam, and I guess, the speakers. I know I would buy one, if such a model existed.
