I bought my Eee last December, For me its the best money for value laptop out there.

I usually travel almost every week. The lighter the things you carry (clothes, chargers, personal things, business things, etc) , the better for your back.

I paired it with my Nokia E51 for internet connectivity via Smart. (10 pesos per 30 minutes), The best I got was 1300 kbps download speed. The worst was *#*#*. Hehehe

With a cheap price laptop like Eee, you dont have to worry if you lose it, somebody stole it, break or drop it, or price value drops in a couple of months.

    Cheers.

I know a guy who's thinking of linking up with a distributor. Will update here if he goes through with it.

But personally, best if you buy from a shop, so upgrades and warranty issues will be easy to handle.

Keep looking, p're... you might get lucky...

gerald_g.... good things happen to those who waits

duda ko, if you wait 3 more mos, the price will drop or the specs will increase na.

    Sana nga!

Last night, we were online at Aranete Center's Hotzone (tip: Buong Gateway... FREE WIFI!)... and my bro did a network check... sa isang hotspot lang, anim kaming naka- Eee!

Two of the other users were at the table beside us... two girls with two brand new (di pa inalis yung screen protector) Eee PCs. Nagbulong-bulong sila nung nilabas ko ung unit ko... Inggit sila na white yung sa akin... di ko lang masabi... black nga yung gusto ko, kaya lang naubusan nung Christmas... "Miss, puwedeng mag-trade?"

So maganda ba (their eeepc or the girls, whatever )?

Hehe, nakwento mo na lahat pati detalye sa screen protector nila, pero bitin pa din ako sa kwento mo sir kse di mo nasabi kong malakas ba yung wifi sa hotspot na yun? Where is it exactly? Sa fastfood area?

add also my frequent out of town lecture engagements.

now try to imagine doing that for 3 years now from almost monday to sunday, and it will surely give you a low back pain.

The shoulder pain I can ignore, but boy, the back pain will give you sleepless nights. My therapy include TENS, Traction and Accupuncture.

The 15.4" is not the only factor, include also a sedentary lifestyle, prolonged sitting like when driving or when in front of the PC, but it surely compounded it.

Before the release of the 3EPC, i was already sold to the idea of buying a 70k compaq 12" laptop just to relieve me of this burden.

Guess I was able to save 50k+ plus additional portability and less weight compared to the 12".

    Not a bad deal.
I guess I'm just conditioned more to carry some weight on my back. I'm a veteran plus I put on a Camelbak full of water whenever we go hiking in the desert, cycling, or whenever we do volunteer work picking up trash on the highways around our neighborhood. That Camelbak when full is around 9 lbs, more when I put in some other junk.

But, I too appreciate the light weight and small footprint of the Eee PC. Unfortunately, I just bought my Toshiba. So no Eee PC for me according to my wife. Rats.....

My wife is the one complains about her heavy laptop. But apparently, it's not heavy enough for her to want an Eee PC.....yet.

I honestly didn't notice... I'm very happily married...

Araneta Hotzone is available throughout Gateway and at scattered points around Araneta. They have multiple wifi hotpoints all around the mall. There are two or three in the foodcourt, one near the theaters (Coffee Bean... very nice place to sit), and... everywhere!

Signal is relatively good, but they shut off near closing time, and speed is pretty good, too... about as good as most airborne or wiz sites.

There is also a signal, to my surprise in the Basement2 Parking of the Medical City. Strenght of the signal is about 50% but speed is not that slow. FYI lang sa mga napapaligaw doon.

The Cloud (tama ba yun?) is coming in daw at around 20k... maybe 22k.

I'm also waiting to see this one... when our supplier gets it, I'm going to take a long hard look at it, as I'm helping my Mom decide whether to get this one or the Eee for their accreditation organization, to serve as a portable workstation for accreditors.

The one big advantage is the 30 GB storage... but it'll also be 800 MHz. As soon as I can get a hands on, I'll give a full comparison.

I just bought myself a 120g external HD. No more storage limitations for me. Problem ko ngayon is nadadagdagan yung internal HD ko sa kaka upgrade nung anti-virus. Ganun ba talaga yun? How do I solve this kaya?

So guys, EB na tayo...haha or should I say EEEb.

Well... bigger virus library, more space... just as long as it's not excessive.
