It'll be obsolete by summer...
Why I Don't Want an iPad for Christmas
8. The Waste
The scarcest resource in life isn't money, land, fresh water or gold. For singles under 25, the scarcest resource is ***, and for the rest of us it's time. And the biggest waste of time I've ever discovered—after games (see above)—is the Web. Nothing comes close. It's a total black hole. Do I want to carry a device that lets me surf the Web endlessly wherever I am? That's easy. It's amazing how much time I have to read now that I never look at Facebook.
Malapit na MacWorld 2011...

iPad 2 mockup teases 128GB storage, exhibits speaker grille we've seen before

Apple itself might not be at CES, but the prospective upgrade of its iPad to version two has accessory manufacturers (or at least manufacturers' imaginations) working overtime. We've just come across our second iPad 2 mockup, this one a lot more comprehensive than the first, which seems to mesh well with some earlier imagery we've seen of the supposed next-gen Apple tablet. Not only that, its rear label reveals an A1337 product code -- one that's also shared by the current iPad WiFi + 3G -- and lists 128GB of onboard storage, two times the current tablet's maximum. We don't know what material it's made out of, but it felt felt the same as the current iPad's aluminum shell. All that said, this is still just a mockup from a no-name accessory maker and we're just as willing to believe it was put together on the basis of some decent rumor research as we are to think that it really is the iPad 2. No harm in browsing some pictures of this 9.4mm-thick device, though eh?

With the iPad 64gb wifi-only averaging Php 30, 500 at tipidpc, will i save a lot more if i get it from HK?
If so, where in HK? I have a friend going there on the 24th.
Thanks!
Nakakalungkot naman 3 months pa lang Ipad ko tapos may bago na agad![]()
Finally bought the 64GB WiFi-only iPad. Iba talaga Apple.
Anyway, I want to buy a sub-P5k tablet for the Mrs. She intends to use it in the kitchen to browse at menus directly from the web or youtube while cooking, among others. It need not be expensive since it'll see service near chopping boards and microwave ovens.. :D It needs WiFi, though (don't know if it's a standard feature already on these tablets).
So, what is the "best" tablet for that price? epad, apad, iped, etc.? "Best" - as in it's reasonably reliable, it can at least provide a couple hours of running time per charge, doesn't crash as often as Windows, etc.
Any specific model? Or are they in fact all the same and it's only the stickered name that's all the difference?
Believe it or not, the "china" tablets are actually different. Some are actually better than others if you can believe some users are reporting about their experiences with them. The cheapest ones are garbage while the more pricey ones (around P8,000) are actually usable.
Always do your research before buying. Slower CPU speeds mean sluggish performance. Less RAM means the same. So best to set a minimum spec like 800mhz cpu and 512meg ram.
Example: (good ones)

^ Thanks GH. That's exactly the insight I need. So the sub-5k tabs are useless? I'm afraid to ask this but, what are they good for then, seriously?
Good for? ... I was thinking as a "cheap" digital picture frame. Beside from that, maybe as a door-stop and paperweight.
Unfortunately so many people want the Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab but don't want or cannot pay the price of a "real" tablet, hence the cheap and useless tablets in the market. Unfortunately many people are not aware that not all tablets are the same, even if they look the same. They end up buying a piece of electronic garbage.
